Rebuild of my 2001 Gt Vert!

You need to buy a whole new intake manifold and replace it. Its easy to change *sad*. The plastic housings crack on every mustang that had them sooner or later. Mine cracked @ the screw housing like yours and thats why the red rust crap is showing. That red crap is not there for a good reason. Its a cheap fix though.

order this: Ford Racing 4.6L Performance Improvement (PI) Intake Manifold at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Check your coolant revisor and see if your coolant is low. That would cause your car to run hot.

Guess i will be ordering that later in the week. Yeah it has been low when i take it bout 10 blocks from my apt complex to work it runs low. I make sure to check it. But since that whole piece is together im gonna let her sit for a bit. Till that part gets in. Sorry I didnt know that was one whole piece. I have owned 4 stangs prior to this one and they all have been 5.0s So I'm kinda new to the 4.6l scene. But thanks for pointing that out to me.

Yep, if its running low on your drives its leaking. Mine exploded soon as i turned into a main street and hit the gas to catch up with traffic :rlaugh: It lasted about 3 months after it 1st cracked and after many sessions of applying RTV to stop the leak. There is many threads on various mustang forums about this problem:

Good luck with the car

Yeah I'm not gonna mess with tires yet. Just gonna wait on top and ordered the manifold earlier. Did the hurry up shipping on the manifold. Checked on the LMR.com, don't have any shippng info yet. So I hope Monday I will have something.

Poor stang! Whoever owned it prior didn't take care of it for ****. Good to see it went to a better home.

Yeah I know. It was a 55 year old lady that owned it. Her son is the one that sold it to me. He said it was the car they use to commute from Crowley to Dallas. But it is cool just makes me wonder how people cant take care of beautiful cars like this.

Sorry for the lack of progress. It is gonna be a slow one. Been working my arse off and waiting on the top to arrive. It is finally here though, so i hope i can get it put on this weekend if the weather holds up and if my brother in law doesn't pull any overtime. I will be making a how to thread for the top removal and assembly. I will post pics of it in a bit. :)

Im willing to bet you have a wider rear rim on the back of the car then you do the front, thats why they look the way they do in the rear.

Nice car for the price thats for sure, you'll get alot of years and miles out of her :nice:
