I picked up a 4.6 out of an expedition today. the guy that I got it from said it was a windsor block with PI heads and that the heads were new. It has 13 valve cover bolts on one side and 14 on the other. And the oil fill is on the Passenger side. Does this sound like PI heads?

yes, if its a 4.6 windsor block then it has pi heads on it. btw what year was the expedition?

It really doesn't matter which one you build. You can put romeo heads on a windsor block and vise versa. Hell you can put 4v heads on a 2v block if you want to. Its just the main caps are different and the location of the freeze plugs. I would suggest finding an aluminum block if you want to build a motor. They are just as strong and are lighting then the iron

I hear alot of people asking how they can tell if the have a set of PI heads or not. when I removed m valve covers they actually have PI stamped on them Do all PI heads have this?
