I have a dyno appointment at afm next thursday. I have a few things to put back together and i Just ordered new tires, and upgraded to the blaster hvc II coil.

Im hoping between the rebuilt transmission and the coil I can gain at least 21 hp. And get a good tune enough to start driving it on the street. Im hoping to make it to the strip in a couple weeks too!

Here is last times wacked out dyno results. Not sure if it was ignition, tire slip, or the transmission eating itself. The second graph is one of the best and cleanest graphs that day. For some reason the dyno was reading 1000 rpms high. So just subtract 1000 to get the real rpm.

What kind of transmission do you have? What kind of block is that?

Kurt

It's a powerglide i had PTC build. Its got the Aftermarket case and was supposed to handle 1200+ hp. But somehow it ended up eating the clutches out of it. When I had my friend take it apart he found one little seal that was bad besides the clutches. Im hoping that was the cause.

I have the dart large bore 351 sportsman block.

Those are pretty good numbers for a car with an S-trim, or is this the new setup. I thought that you needed at least 1200hp to make using a Powerglide worth your while.

Yeah its the in progress build in my sig. Those numbers are off of 15 psi. And im ok with the numbers for now. Considerring its 91 octain and only 15 psi and we don't have it fully tuned (no real timing was added before the issues arrose) im really happy. This next time at the dyno will to be to finish up the pump gas tune. Then after that I am going to switch to E85 and up the psi. Then will be the time to see how stupid we can go. If things seem to be going good i will push it till it makes 1000 at the wheels or breaks. Im guessing its going to be about 20-23psi with a healthy tune.

Also Rick at AFM said the current numbers should be good for 9.40's with my setup. So that makes it worth it.

do you have it caged?

Yes, Its got an 8 pt roll cage i believe. Its been so long ago i don't remember exactly what i put in it.

Car has pretty much been in storage for the last 3 years and with my new job i finally have some spending money again to work on it.

Tomorrow is the appointment and im not really into it like usual. Mainly because i know about were it should be and even with a good tune i just don't see it making all that much more to were i was with the issues from last time. And compared to when i do an E85 tune on it later with some more psi im just not all that excited. I haven't really gotten to play around with this setup and im already craving more power. lol

Ha...If your screename (moneypit) didn't accurately represent your car before this new build, it surely does now.

That is a seriously wicked and sick setup you have. Congrats on getting it there. Are you planning on strictly racing it or driving on street, cruiser, etc...???

I originally built it up for the true/wild street competitions. Have to have a street legal car that can handle 30 mile trip and 3 runs directly afterwards. Keeps the all out drag cars out. I would like to hit one of those competitions up but now i just want to drive it around on the weekends and play with it on the strip.

So no its not going to be a daily driver, just more of a toy to play with occationally and have some bragging rights.. lol
