help with color sanding!

the reason im asking is because i just painted a fiberglass hood indego red and its got funny spots in it.. like cloudy... like some of the hood is wet and some parts are not..maybe i t will go away after the next coat? i no maybe this thread mmight be worthless without pics.. anyone have any ideas? wish i could explain better.. there are just rough spots on it..pre paint after al the body work ifinished it with 400...
the gun is divilbiss ..starting line i got from summtracing just resprayed it as far as the other problem looks light that MIGHT be gone..now i got some paint spatter..? on it like some globs of paint that shot out to big.. make sence? like something that maybe happen in a cheap spray can..other than that looks great!lol hmm what could have caused it.. thought maybe it was gettting low on paintand had gun tilted to far forward maybe that would do it ??
You running a air filter/dryer? Sounds like you're getting moisture in your lines. Drain your tank before you start.
thats what i was thinking .. but i do have a filter i bought hooks to the gun between pressure regulator and gun ..isnt that what its for? how do i drain tank.. its a large upright compressor..must be at the bottom?..brand of paint.. it says western automotive finishes.. i took in an old can from wen it was painted the first time long ago that i had and it was ppg took it to sherwin williams and thats what i got..is that there brand?
That filter will help, but a filter/dryer setup is the trick. The drain is at the bottom. Drain it and you should be good to go for a hood, without a filter/dryer. Never used that brand. I've always used PPG or HOK. What spray time are doing? Flash time between coats? Temperature and reducer?
ahh whats a dryer filter? and how much?it was probobly about 70 wen i sprayed it and about an hour between coats..the first problem looks ALOT better.. now i just got that spatter crap on the hood..how do i fix that just sand it back down and respray it??? hmm i found something on the bottom of compressor just got to figure out how to open it and drain it

Maybe cheaper elsewhere. At 70 you'll need a fast-medium reducer. Sand it with 400-600 and respray it if real bad/course. If it's not that bad smooth it out with 800-1000 and blend it out to cover that area.
If you go from the start go 10-15 minutes between base coats until full coverage. Let dry for 20 minutes and do a light even coat of clear. Flash time for 20-25 minutes and do a medium-wet coat of clear. 20-25 minutes and a final coat of clear. No sanding at all from start of spraying to finish. Those times are typical and may vary by temp, reducer, mfg specs.
You'll need to reduce the base coat to spray. Fast reducer is for cooler weather. Slow for warm (90F^ up).
