$75.... what makes you think they were homemade? (just tryin to learn)
Live and learn. :-(
Hopefully, with the help of the forums, you won't be often mega screwed over, like many of us "older dudes" :) were, before there was the 'net.

Many things say that those POS plates were made by someone that doesn't have a clue about Mechanical Engineering!
o The mounting of screws into that oblong bearing plate is purely moronic!
o Screwing into the oblong plate? WTF?
o Not even allowing for the screws to fully go through the oblong plate (see the plate underneath blocking the screw). WTF??
o It looks like cr*p.

Also, if you didn't get the spacers needed to use CC plates, then you got very screwed. Sorry. But, at least it's only $75, and you didn't install those POS plates. Many people get very screwed by putting on unsafe and mega POS pure cr*p that companies sell!

Unless you have a degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME), it can be hard to recognize the pure cr*p that companies, and people, sell. IMHO, concentrate on your professional field - that's what pays your way through life. Learn ME concepts as you have time. And, if in doubt, the forums might help. However, be aware, I see the forums now being only ~50% correct in many answers.

I will agree. I hate to say it but those plates look like crap. The metal quality looks ok, typical anodized coating. But the design looks poor. You don't have to be an engineer to be able to tell that those plates won't work too well at all. I would say ... some on the side cheap ass company selling knockoff products through ebay. The person you bought them from probably got jipped (spelling) and found they were crap, then wanted to make some $$$ back and re-sold them for as much as he could.

The MM CC plates are excellent quality and build, I just bought and installed a set myself not too long ago. Very easy to install IMO. You just need an impact wrench (electric is fine) so you can remove and re-install the upper strut rod nuts.

I have a set of steeda cc plates that look identical to them, just a little more beat up. If they are steeda's, i would suggest not using them, as i managed to bend the main plate with a mostly stock suspension, only lowered with C springs. I have MM cc plates now, and they are waaaaaay better.

I will see if i can post some pictures of my steeda plates tonight.

What is wrong with you people? Homemade??? Junk??? First of all they are QA1 or Steeda plates, both are the same. They may not be MM plates but homemade junk they are not. There are a ton of people running those same plates without issues.

I haven't had any issues out of mine, well at least yet... =)

Thanks for the info guys, and I did get the spacers with them..... I got them from a guy that parts out mustangs, I've bought a bunch of parts from him and he's an honest guy, so I doubt he was tryin to pull one over on me, just didn't know. I really want the MM ones, but everyone knows how the economy is and I'm hurtin BAD, but my car is VERY close to being done after two years of building (bleed brakes and CC plates) and i just don't have the money to buy the MM's.

I was looking through MM&FF today and noticed that the UPR plates look VERY similar to the ones I have...... so I've got half of you sayin they're crap and the other half sayin they're ok. I'm lost now. lol. :(

I went with MM after doing tons of research. However, I've never heard of any CC causing a catastrophic failure. If you ask this same question 6 months from now you might get completely different results.

When I was at the shop I snapped this pic for reference...

I didn't want to go cheap at all because when I'm done I should be damn close to the 8s.
