Just bought a 2010 GT, what do I need to know?

Astronut- Not trying to be a jerk (wait for it)- but I am curious why you went for the 2010 with the 2011 arriving at dealers now. I could understand somebody going for the 2010 if they got an unbeatable deal. Your deal seems ok and all... maybe there is somthing I'm missing.

Well, because the '04 I was driving had overheated 4 times in a month to the extent of pushing out all the coolant and pegging the temp gauge and I wanted to get out of it before it became a lawn ornament I owed 12k on. I would have rather waited, but honestly I like the '10 just fine, and it's not like I can't find more power in the future. The 0% financing is what sold me, no way I'd get that on an '11 and the '04 was at 14%.
 
On another note: when I traded in the '04, it had an off-road prochamber on it and that won't fly out here in CA. I told the dealer, he said he didn't care. A week later I got a call practically begging me to have the stock pipe sent out here from MA because the dealer said it was going to run him $3400 to get a new H pipe. I agreed if they covered shipping costs. The other day I asked for a favor back: I wanted magnapacks. Well, he's getting them for me at cost and covering half the price. My mom, who is awesome and somehow completely understands my Mustang obsession, is paying for the other half of the price of the mufflers as a very early xmas present. Car should have some rumble next week :D

I've also decided that the hit parade of mods coming up over the next year will be:
1) Brenspeed custom tune
2) AFE Pro Wet filter
3) Steeda Tri-Ax ( I know you said MGW, but I LOVED the Tri Ax in my '04)
4) CDC chin spoiler
5) CDC rear blackout trim
6) CDC shaker hood scoop
7) Roush side skirt splitters

I just picked up a 2010 GT W/Track Pack option. I just put Steeda Ultra-Lite springs Pan Hard bar and brace on the car last Friday. I just ordered there CAI and SCT 3 Tuner.

Yeah unfortunately the track pack wasn't available on any of the cars at the dealership that I liked. When it came down to it, I wanted the features like the shaker and HIDs more since I will probably expand well beyond the factory track pack in the future (I'm thinking complete Steeda suspension setup). I would have liked the 3.73s, but that's something that can come aftermarket, the shaker 1000 not so much, and I love that system :D
 
Filter and tune are in, and the car is a whole lot more potent now. That tune was like a line of coke for my car, now the thing is all hyped up and ready to go. Also thinking about doing some detroit rocker cams through brenspeed in the future, probably after a Steeda suspension conversion.
