Hey folks,

Finally got started on restoring my 1994 GT convertible and need to help tracking down some parts sources. First I will be refinishing the interior, and at the same time, I need to replace some of the engine compartment harnesses that have become brittle and damaged. I would really love to find either aftermarket harnesses or OEM ones. I am not to sure that going the junk yard route is going to be a good idea, since any harness from there would be just as old. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

the wires themselves shouldn't have any problems. Just get some new wire loom and take your time and redo what Ford did. wire loom with electrical tape over it...

I did this on my Cobra conversion project. It's cheap to buy wire loom and electrical tape, and you can wrap it to your heart's content. Besides, I doubt Ford is making wiring harnesses for a 15-16 year old car anymore.

Well, I have done some more research, chatted with some local stang club members, it seems the most sensible method is the pigtail replacement method. As I identify the damaged connectors, I should do a splice, solder, shrink tube and wrap method. It should be the best solution for the buck. I have time so it can be done without rushing. And then I guess wire loom where needed.
