Hey...

Looking for any input on somewhere to have my Mac LTs ceramic coated. checked a few links online and one is around 200.00 to do up a set with a week turnaround time. Anyone know what Jet-Hot charges? If anyone has expierience with a good vendor that would be great.. Im down to the final stuff on doing my 331 and I can squeeze a few dinero for coating these...Unless someone has a sweet deal on something hanging around....like some 1 3/4 coated...:nice:

Thanks...

jethot has a section on their site where you can fill out a form to get a free estimate and i did it when i was looking at a set of chrome headers that if i bought i was gonna get coated and they quoted me $375 for their black color but said the sterling silver would be like $300 IIRC

they also have a flat charge(i dont remember what it is) for removing any existing coating ei. chrome, ceramic, paint, etc.

I spoke with both companies in the links...both are 200.00 or so. one guy gets 20.00 for stripping and wont do anything that has chrome on it due to EPA issues on stripping chrome. The other dude said he blast preps so if he gets a good base, its good to go. Both coat in & out.
The 2nd company, the one I'm leaning towards, does the first 8" of each tube with a extra 2000 deg coating to keep the ceramic from dulling or turning Gray due to crazy heat right there... 200.00 plus shipping & no strip charge...bout 10 days to turn them around back to me.
He said to box em with the info inside...he'll do them up and contact with the final shipping & coat charge...

The owners of both companies are the ones who answered the phone and seemed like straight up dudes..

200.00 to just coat what I have seems like the cheapest way out at this point..

This is the place that does the additional..
Ceramic Coating

We had one local place and they closed a few years back from what I gather. Cant seem to locate anything local on the net.

I was thinking new as the BBK seem to have good feedback on the coating and longevity...but I run a Prochamber and I'd have to dump that. Mac I'm not sure and I'd be pissed if I went new and the coating flaked, chipped off or some chit...I think its just as well to send these out... but then again this is a 331 and I should step up to 1 3/4.... and the money pit continues....:D

I just ordered one of Anderson Fords super king cobra clutch sets the other day and that was the last big item i needed to be done...

Called today to see if these dudes got my headers I sent last week. Guy said they were heat curing today, buff & polish tomorrow and then ship Wednesday. He stated they'll look so nice you wont even wanna run them..:nice:
Looks like he'll make the 10 day turn time back to me.

I have a Mac Prochamber on my BBK LTs. The gap is a little off, but all you have to do is put a ratchet strap on it, and crank the pipes together a little. It's no big deal at all.
