What is the best year to buy from 2005-09?

05-06 seems to be a different supercharger than a 07-09. I'm not sure why exactly, but I do know the 05-06 exhaust hangers are different... lol, but that's not a big deal.

Personally, I would buy a 2007 forward just because of the miles.

I'm very happy with my 06 GT!! The car has really responded to the few mods I have done to this point, they have made a WORLD of difference. I was lucky to find this car 2 months ago with 25,600 miles (completely stock, one owner car)

Best of luck!!

The newer the better especially with the 09's revised cylinder heads BUT...

some mods are either not available for 09s or at least not emissions legal because of the revisions so that may factor into your decision.

Careful at first!

With a car like the "new" 2005 Mustang-it was so hyped; I think Ford made extra sure it was... perfect! I have an early 2005 and it has had ZERO problems. Tires, gas and lubes...that's all! No rattles or any recalls or issues. Not one. So, I'd say any year of the Mustang is a Great Year!

IC :nice:

2006 HERE ! And only trouble so far was the alternator crapping out and new battery - im at 45,000 miles and got her with 11 miles on it brand new in 2006..other than that, a good tune, CAI and gears really bring the car to life ! Add an SC on these cars and its a whole new ball game ! Good luck with what ever route, try and find a nice used 1 OWNER un-molested GT and mod to your hearts delight!

Great thread, as I had the same question.

I couldn't understand why the 05-06 often had their own section in the aftermarket gear available, so I was guessing something may have been improved on the later models.

Generally I am looking at the 08 and 09's but if the price is right I would go 06 or 07. I was offered a brand spanking new 10 for $26,000 which I was seriously tempted by, but wonder about residuals???

I also have an early 05 GT built in November 2004. Just like INDYCAR said no issues. I also think that FORD took great care in building these cars so they would have a positive impression from the begining. Mine is one of the first 15,000 off the line. No issues or recalls.
I have also had a SC on the car for 3 years now without any issues.
Running 448 RWHP and 418 T from 7 lbs.
As far as the issue with the spark plugs, If you are gonna super charge the car the spark plugs will be changed anyway so it becomes a non issue.
I also have a 2010 Mustang and changed the wheels out. I hate the Tire Pressure Monitors. I didn't install them on the new wheels and have to reset the computer every time I start the car. Pain in the butt!
That being said, I think any of the 05-09 cars would be great, so look fo one that has the features that you want for the price and mileage that fits.
Hope this helps.
