I've got a '04 Cobra with a hurst shifter. They guy who owned the car before me kept reciepts of everything so I know it has a new cluth that was installed by a ford dealership but I don't know if it's the OEM clutch or aftermarket. Anyway, at first the clutch was not disengaging all the way. I installed a maximum motorsports firewall adjuster and have it adjusted almost all the way out (away from the firewall). That's what it took to make the clutch disengage all the way when I had the clutch pedal pressed in. It helped the shifting some but it's still hard to shift especially when at a high rpm. When flooring it I always miss third because it just won't go right in and it's hard to get out of second at high rpm. sitting still it can be hard to get into first and reverse and has on occasion clunked and grinded when put into reverse although it hasn't really done it since I installed the firewall adjuster. Is my tranny just at the end of it's life or what? Maybe just need to change the tranny fluid? It only has 31,500 miles on it so i don't know what's up with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your clutch is still not fully disengaged when your pressing the pedal. If the firewall adjuster wont extend enough then you may need an adjustable cable also. I typically run the Steeda setup everytime. It contains adjustable cable and firewall adjuster, works every time.

Hope this helps, Art:nice:
