Question about 2011 6-spd manual.

It's been a few years since my last mustang, a 2002 5-spd GT and I have a question for you guys that are already driving your new 5.0s. One of the biggest headaches for me back then was that POS Tremec 5-spd manual. Seems that shifting other than slow and precise always resulted in an annoying grind of 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd. A lot of the owners experienced the same characteristics. So...........how is the new 6-sp treating you? Any quirks or annoyances?
I'm getting really close to ordering the white exterior, black interior and Brembo package.

Thanks in advance.

Well I haven't had any problems with my 5 speed in the '06. The '11 I drove yesterday felt fairly similar to what I was used to in there. So it seems the only real difference is the addition of the 6th gear and moving reverse to the left side of the gearbox.

If you haven't driven one yet, you should to get the feel. It's much better than you would have remembered on that 2002 GT.

I haven't got my 5.0 yet (still gonna be awhile) but I have test drove one twice, and let me tell you the transmission was a big selling point to me. Not only did I really want a 6 speed car, but it was like I was shifting a cloud! It was very very smooth, and I totally know what you mean about the 1-2-3 grind, but normally I only get it on 2nd in my 2003. Its a HUGE improvement to me! Also the clutch is a lot less weight, feels much easier to press. Overall I find the 11 to be quite a big upgrade if you're riding in anything pre-05.

No Grinding here. Smooth. Still too vague for my liking tho. A shifter is next.

Hurst used my car as the mock up for their shifter. As soon as they are done, I'll get a free shifter and report to you guys how it feels. :)
