I'm assuming I need a new front pass. side wheel bearing as I have a pile of grease (assuming) inside both sets of wheels and a slight grinding noise (almost sounds like tire road noise but it's the same with either set of wheels and tires and I've changed the brakes and it's still persistant). The car has about 75k on it.

Assuming the grease stuff came from the wheel bearing area, I can't seem to find the parts I need to replace with.

I'm stationed in the UK so I can't exactly go to a Ford dealer who can get me the parts. I tried Rockauto but they seem to only have rear wheel bearings.

So if any one knows a source and or a part number at the very least for everything I would need to replace both front wheel bearings it would be much appreciated.

Thanks to both of you, I was hoping for a Ford part though but maybe my hopes are too high?

Definately appreciate the E-Bay link I have trouble searching US sites when they auto switch back to the UK one :p

Since this is such a common problem there are a lot of threads on it, here is one of mine:

I had to replace both fronts on my old GT and one front on my Cobra so far.

Too bad all your pictures are gone :chair:

How did you torque them down? 258 lbs-ft is a lot :jaw:

Last time I did a axle or hub nut that required ridiculous torque like that, I measured 2 feet out from the nut on my cheater bar and stood on a bathroom scale and when I was adding or subtracting (depending on if I was pushing or pulling) half the torque spec from my own weight, I knew I was there - the handle needs to be roughly parallel to the ground as you near the final bit of tightening for it to be accurate though.

The ones Rockauto have are Ford Motorcraft: 2003 FORD MUSTANG GT Hub. The eBay ones probably aren't but I have actually bought a few items from that particular seller before - window regulators and an upper intake manifold for our '01 LeSabre - and they worked out fine.

I had searched it, but I was searching "Wheel Bearing" and getting crap about rim sizes :(

Anything helps. Now to find a flipping Tq Wrench that size. I have one at work that's 500 ft lbs, but I don't think I have any sockets that will fit it since they are 2" (Or at least bigger than the standard socket nub) sockets and the smallest we have is about 2.5"

When I bought mine for my 2000GT, the Ford dealer had a number for ABS equipped cars and non ABS. The ABS ones are sprocket like for the ABS sensor. Also, the torque spec isn't that bad when the torque wrench is about 15" in length. (3/4" wrench I believe)
