So I finally got the Mach out to the track tonight for the 1st time since I have had my mods & had the heads rebuilt...

Here are the results... Not bad for a noob I guess LOL...

I am pretty pleased with the results for my 1st time out. I am a little disappointed with the trap speed, but the E/T I am happy with. I do need to work on the 60 ft though, but IMO its not too bad, especially for having stiff road race oriented suspension with no weight transfer. Each run got progressivly better as time went on...

Ripping it! Hell yeah, congrats, Dustin!

Told you so! BTW, nice 60ft!

Thanks Mark... I am not gonna lie, I am surprised as hell of the results. I only got 4 runs in, & the only 1 slower than 12.9 was my last run where I missed 2nd gear. When the car hooked, it caught me by surprise, & I never felt that feeling before. Feels great though!!!:nice:

1 thing that is pretty scary is how bad the car sways on the top end with the slicks...

Great times Dustin you did quite well.
Definitley heat up those slicks abit and work on that 60 foot time.
Practice makes perfect at the track so,the more you go the better
your times will get.I can't wait to go to the track next month! :)

Tell me about the sway.... the 1st pass I was able to drive through it, but the second pass it kept getttng worse and I had to let out. I am in the process of finding some Drag radials so I can get to the track...question....did your pro stars fit fine in the rear without grinding on the calipers? I had some summit star wheels last year but I had to grind down the caliper bolt a little but they still were to close for comfert....so I was going to get some greg welds or something with a little mroe room in a 15" wheel for the back...

Great times btw, I can agree...when it comes off the line hooking its amazing how it feels. The 1st time I launched my car on et streets it dead hooked to a 1.68 60' time and scared the crap outa me!!!! I am in the same boat, road race suspension, so no weight transfer, but still cuts a 1.6X or 1.7x 60' which makes me happy!

I'd look at running a set of skinnies with ET slicks. It will help the handling on the top end and the car shouldn't move around as much.

Thanks... I need to work on my burnout a little more, & I'm sure my 60 could get a little better, BUT, remember my suspension is not setup for drag at all. Its all super stiff road race stuff which consists of Bilstein MM coilovers with a 315 lb front spring which is far from ideal for drag racing. Plus the car is dumped & doesn't have much weight transfer at all.

NICE E.T.'s man! Your MPH doesn't seem that far off to me either.

Your 60's are GREAT in my opinion. It really may be hard to pull better times than that with your suspension setup and the power you're making.

Thanks bro...

What gears do you have again?

*edit*

NM your sig didn't pop of for me the first time.

Kick ass!

Thanks...

Nice times Epic... very impressive given your suspension set up

BTW, what size tires do you run on your FR500's?

Thanks... My tires on the FR;s are 265/35/18 & 295/35/18...

The sway was pretty scary at 100+ mph, but it was manageable so I stayed in it every time LOL... Personally, given your power level, & manual trans, I would not recommend downgrading to DR's, its just gonna make it harder to hook.

The Summit Pro star knock off's that I have on my car fit fine with the 1/4" spacer to clear the brakes, they are only 15X8 though, & barely clear...

Thanks for the compliment... 1.6x 60 is good enough to make me happy, & I will take my road race suspension any day over a drag setup because I love taken the twisties too much as well LOL...

60' is killer, nice runs !

Thanks...

I'd look at running a set of skinnies with ET slicks. It will help the handling on the top end and the car shouldn't move around as much.

I am looking into that, but how do you get the 15" skinnies to clear 13" brakes?

Damn, that is actually some pretty good numbers. Interesting how both cars in your sig have relatively the same time

Thanks... Well, the cars ran similar times, but the 60 ft in the notch was only a 1.8. With a better 60 ft, I guarantee the notch will outrun the mach & will most likely run a low 12...

They need to be bias ply skinnies with true slicks, which are also bias ply.

Dustin, those are some real good 60's! Anytime your getting into the 1.6x range thats leaving pretty damn good, IMO!

Thanks!!!:nice:

Here is crappy vid my buddy got from his camera phone. Too bad he only got the run when I missed 2nd, but I think this was my best, & highest RPM launch of the night....

You might look at a set in 16 or 17's. I'm sure there are a few companies make them. CCW makes them for my car in 17's.

You might have to run longer studs and possibly a big hubcentric spacer. I really have no idea.

Great times Epic considering the little power mods that you have.

I think the race stars industries wheels that I run will clear larger brakes. I'm not sure though. They are about the same price as weld draglights and prostars but they allow you to clear brakes without running spacers because the spacer is built into the wheel itself.

I would love to get CCW drag pack wheels, but MAN, they are pricey...

Thanks... I will have to look into those Race star wheels.

Try to get some skinnies if you can.
What kind of slicks are you running Dustin?

I'm gonna test fit my buddies 15" Summit skinnies with a 1" spacer to see if they will clear. I'm running MT ET drags in a 26X10 (I think thats the size??). I borrowed them from a buddy...
