Bullitt or '11 5.0

As a Ford sales consultant, I love the Bullitt. It was a great everyday driver package that handled better than that basic GT, braked better, and to me, looked better...under the radar so to speak. I don't think you'll have any problems with the Bullitt...until you drive a 5.0. :)

The Bullit is nice, but the improvements to both the chassis, suspension, brakes, and interior on the 11's makes for an even nicer driving experience. I was considering buying the last of the Bullitts we had, but I'm glad I waited for the 11. 100 Hp is a big difference and the trans with the 6 speed is better.

I'd say drive both. If the Bullitt works, buy it, you won't be dissappointed. I have a feeling you'll enjoy the 5.0 more tho. Besides, the sticker on my 2011 GT was $32685. The Bullitts used go for mid to high 20's for clean examples with low miles. I don't see a $10,000 difference unless you get something more loaded.

And if you go Bullitt...GREEN only!! :)

Someone in my town has a green Bullitt. I love that car. It looks really classy. As others have said the Bulllit will retain resale value better - it's already been depreciated. It's also a classic, limited edition car that got a lot of good attention when it was introduced. If I bought the Bullit I wouldn't do a thing to it, I would want to keep it just like it came from the factory.

I'm a 2008 owner who doesn't have anything against the rear of the 2010-11 'Stangs. Overall I prefer the retro look of my 2008 to the more modern look of the 11, even though the fit and finish of the 11 is better. Having said that, if someone were to offer me an even trade I would take it :)

I just went through this debate, and took the cheaper option. Picked up a black 2008 Bullitt with 14k miles for just under $21k.

I love the 2010+ interior. My parents have a 2009 F-150, and the newer sound systems are amazing with sync and the controls on the steering wheel are pretty awesome.
But I have always hated the 2010 rearends. The only redeeming qualities are the sequential turn signals, and the fact that you don't see the rear from the driver's seat. The 2005-2009 rears aren't the greatest in Mustang history, but the fact that the Bullitt's automatically get spoiler-delete brings them up.

My decision was based on a money standpoint. If you can afford a new 5.0, I don't know why you'd consider a 2005-2010. But if you're more comfortable with paying for a used 4.6 car, definately get a Bullitt.

Having test driven a 5.0, I think you will be happier with the 4.6 in the bullit and 10k in your pocket. Dont get me wrong, the 5.0 is a great motor. However, it actually seems to lack the low end grunt that you had with your fox body. The 5.0 is quick but for low rpm grunt the 4.6 has a better feel. Personally I would go with a used or left over 4.6.

Gears would fix that problem.

My vote is "Buy the Bullitt"... I think they ruined the looks of the Mustang with the new models (although I do like the looks of the interiors)... My 08 Bullitt is getting a new Kenne Bell 2.6 next week so the new models will have nothing even close on the performance factor...

I took my 07' in to get the airbag recall fixed, and had my first up close with the new 5.0, other than the 11' GT500 the dealership has out front :D

I love everything about the new 5.0, up until I got around to the back of the car. The back of the car just doesn't look right, from the cheesy little spoiler to the awkward slope of the trunk lid. I would gladly take one if it was given to me, but I feel that overall my 07' looks a ton better. If the opportunity presented itself, I'd much rather swap the Coyote in my car, than go and spend $35-40k on an 11', and every time I walk up to it, I think god that rear end is ugly.

Personally, I'd save the extra cash, get the Bullitt and put that money into mods.

I was a die hard Mustang fan until the '05s came out. I do, however, like the Bullits and GT500. But, Ford really got my attention with the '10 redesign and with the improvements made over the last couple of years, I think it's a no brainer.

If you have the money, go for a 2011.

To me, everything about the car looks better, but I especially like the much more styled hood and "hips" of the '10+. The interior changes, huge power increase and minor suspension and sound deadening tweaks make it an easy decision, if you can comfortably afford it.

If a '11 is a stretch, financially, go for a good deal on a Bullitt.

Have you considered a GT500 for about the same price as the new '11 GT? 6spd, check. 100 more hp? Try 200... Limited run, check. Brakes, check. Warranty, extended maybe...

Looking at the interiors, I have to say I actually prefer the Bullit's. It just looks cooler, but it wouldn't be enough to get me to buy one. Between the two cars you mentioned, I'd pay the extra and own the 5.0.

Oh and here's one more vote for the rear fascia on the 05-09 over the 10+. The looks up front are growing on me, but I'm not sure you can beat tastefully modded aesthetics of an '05-09.

I have been thinking same thing .. Way I look at it is there will be so many 2011 out they will be common in a few months , but only so many Bullitts were made .. The look really goes with that car ... and like people have said HP is just how much money you want to spend ..

I am partial to the 08 bullitt since I have #755.

Get the bullitt, get a roush stage 3 suspension for $2000, get some gforce ta kdw2 tires 850$, and get a roush m90 supercharger with the cold air kit and roush strut tower brace $6500 installed at a ford dealer.

Now you have a 460 hp monster that can pull 1G+ in the skidpad and will eat the 2011 for lunch.

Prices are turnkey installed from my ford dealer.

Spend the other 500 on the gas youll burn the weekend you have all this done and nothing else to do but burn up the road.

EDIT: been awhile since i had all this quoted, i was running form memory. you should get this http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=1536. with the tires and the strutbar..money left over and 475hp/435lbft of fun :)

Eat the 2011 for lunch??? Hardly. The Roush Stage 3 suspension and KDW's may make it outhandle a stock '11 GT, but neither a Stage 3 or 427R are handing it anything at the strip. Either of those cars is good for high-12's at best with low-13's being average. The '11 GT has already run 12.7's on stock tires and 12.4X's on drag radials without the blower.

Also, the Roush M90 kit is rated at 435hp, not 460hp.

So in the end you've sunk $10,000 into the Bullitt (spending as much in total as you would on a brand new GT) to basically match the all around performance of the GT and you're still driving a 3-year-old car.

a m90 with he roush cold air kit for the m90 will put out 460 hp. Those 09 and below stage 3 and 427r dont have the gt500KR rearend like the bullitt does either.

The bullitt stock has been run 13.2 in the 1/4 so im sure with 160 more hp and 105 more torques it will do alot better.

Arguing numbers anyway is amoot point because every driver, track, day is different.

As for me when I get some funds I will be getting the tvs s/c from roush. I already have the suspension.

Personally I would rather drive 1 of around 6800 than one of who knows how many.

You also have to think Ford is ALWAYS going to be coming out with something better , and who knows what a 2012 GT will do, or a 2013 for that matter ... Get what you want ... we dont know a V6 eco-boost may be just around the corner ...

x2, just buy what fits your budget and your style and worry about performance later, there are fox bodies to be had for a little of nothing that could SMOKE a 2011, and there are 2010's with all the options to be had for a lot more $$. Just figure out what you can spend and what's more important, style and comfort or all out, raw power.
