Another Mach 460 Q: Any way to splice in an ipod jack?

I'm going absolutely crazy because of my head unit. I have 2 of them and cd player works in neither. I've heard too many bad stories about aftermarket units sounding bad and getting hack jobs done. I'm not very patient and worry about screwing things up to try and put one in myself. Is there any easy way to splice in a line-in jack from an ipod? Thanks in advance.

Absolutely!

Yup, I spliced in an aux jack in an 03 mach 460 system, and it takes a box that costs about $100, I'll try and find the number for the box, because it was very straight forward and easy. PM me for more info.

Got this today.

"Hi Terry:
We're sorry but there isn't any interface that we know of that is said to be compatible with the Mach460 factory radio in the '03 Mustang.

I know there's one that will work, just need to know which one.

Ok everybody :grouphug:
for everyone with the Mach 6-Disc changer radio you can have an IPod hookup :nice:

Audiovox FM Modulator and Adapter with Isolation Transformer - Reviews, Features, and Prices $39 - $56 at DealTime

All you have to do is install this Audiovox FM100A. They run around $40-$50ish? And also a RCA/ to Headphone connector $8-$15+

This give's you your 6Disc still and you just tune your radio to the station selected on the box installed and you have clear sounding IPod tunes:rock:

If anyone needs info just let me know i can walk you through how to hookup and all?

Because all other "IPod Interfaces" these are hard wired through the factory plugs on the back of the radio.
You unplug you 6Disc changer and plug in the IPod interface module? Losing even using the CD function?
Or they don't even work on the 6Disc radio?

There is. I had one in my 03 gt with the Mach 460

It was FRDN-AUX I'd I recall.

Worked fine.

fshawn50 thanks for the info. I was hoping to get something that was hard wired and not an FM modulator. I'm currently using one of the cigarette lighter FM modulators and the sound is terrible. No matter what radio station I tune it to, the static is unbearable. I'm guessing you've had better luck with the setup you are talking about or do you still get static? I also forgot to mention in my first post that I have the in-dash 6 disc changer so I don't think it has a separate changer output but I haven't pulled the HU out to check. Thanks again.

No that is not how it works.

With the logjam interface, you plug into the back of the radio and that is it. Hit cd and you have access to your 6 disk...hit cd again and the screen changes to "dj" and now your aux input works and whatever you plug in plays ( with awesome quality). Hit cd again and you go back to your cd player. You don't lose any function and there is no awkward wire unplugging and plugging.

fm modulators suck ass!!

:bang:

some "WIRELESS" FM Modulators suck
But if you use the Audiovox model like i mentioned "NO STATIC" "CLEAR SOUND"?? What's wrong with that
Or you can spend like $130-$170ish for a "great" IPod interface that hooks up just the same??:nice:
And if you read most are not compatable with the Mach system.
