Hey all, been a long time off these forums, getting ready to purchase either a 95 5.0 or a 96 4.6, anyone got any suggestions as to which is better?... I'll tell my quick goals.
I want quick 0-60, and seat of the pants "haul-arse" feel. - so I will immediately rebuild the rear end with 4.10's, and do full exhaust, headers, off road midpipe, etc. - and all bolt-ons. - I need to use the car for driving (short distance) to work each day, and I want it fast... which might I have better luck with? - I am thinking I can put a good cam in a 5.0 a lot easier... but am I better off with the later technology of the 4.6, now I know it wouldnt be a PI 4.6, but is the non-PI 4.6 still better technology than a 5.0???

looking for any advice, thoughts?

thanks!!!!!

your going to get a biased opinion on this forum obviously it being 94-95. The 5.0 will give you more of what you are looking for though. The non-pi head mod motors are best used for boat anchors.

I figured it'd be biased :) based on where I put this post, I just figured someone who had a 5.0 would be able to tell me if I would like it... I want it to feel and be quick. - I had a 97GT Vert I put 3.73's in and full bolt ons, and it seemed good. - I just don't want to be disappointed with a 5.0 after having had that... doesn't sound like I would be disappointed?

I know this is gonna be a real dumb question but lets see if I can ask it in a non-dumb way :D ... but with say 4.10's, full bolt ons, intake, exhaust, etc. and maybe a cam, any rough idea on how quick a 95 5.0 might be (5-speed)???

how about same mods, and add a Vortech or Procharger? - (I'm really leaning towards the 5.0, just wanting to know what kinda power I can get out of it, and still be able to drive it)

Whats your end goal...

The way i look at it if your looking for under 450rwhp a 5.0 is fine... it gets expensive when you get over that block breaking limit. Some people have luck others dont... There is always the 351 option...

With the 4.6 you have the teksid option...

If i were you and in the market for a mustang id start looking for a cobra... i just saw a 98 cobra sell for 5k :nonono:

I prefer the 5.0 just beacuse im used to push rods... and i think its easier to make decent power (300-400hp) at a cheaper price.
