3" exhaust

Thanks, I'm looking at the Mac 3" ProChamber mid pipes and the pro dumps. From what I heard it's just about impossible to get 3" over the axle tailpipes installed so there not hitting something or other.

The brings up a new question. Will the Mac ProChambers match up to the BBK 351 swap headers???

According to your signature you seem to have a pretty nice/expensive setup.
Don't cheap out on the exhaust.

I wouldn't use mac garbage if you gave it to me for free.
Been there done that.

Couple options i can thing of.
A. Get a quality set of headers you want, then have the h and catback made by a good exhaust shop, some place that does mandrel bending or uses pieces of pre made pipe and weld bends and pieces together.
B. Call Kooks.

Neither is going to be cheap, but at this point it doesn't exactly look like you are on a budget build.

My explorer has option A on it, catback only.
Since it uses a single pipe because of the spare tire i had a 3 inch done.
Cost about 400 that included a magnaflow double walled tip and magnaflow muffler, and one pipe quality below the best stainless. (i forgot which is which)

Edit: One more thing, a few years back a company named asphalt jungle made a 3 inch kit, haven't see it for quite a while though.

Never had a problem with mac...

The materials mac uses are thin and cheap.
The bends are all stretched on the outside corners of the bend causing the metal to be even thinner.
Mac products wear through from the inside out. So they can coat it in whatever they like on the outside, too bad it rots from the inside.

There is a reason mac products cost 50% less than others like bassani and magnaflow.
Crappy materials that only have a 5 year life span if you drive alot.

Piece togethere the exhaust, you may have to do some custom work but in the long run it will be worth it. My old setup was bassaini headers with a modified bassani x to slip on the 3" collector, and a set of dr gas flow tubes into 3" dyno max ultraflo welded mufflers and dumps.

I found a deal on craigslist for a full bassai exhaust with headers all the way back to the tailpipes, and thats what im running now, the car sounds the same with the bassaini mufflers as it did with the ultraflows, except alot quiter inside with the tails on it.

The flowmaster kit is alright but its big money, and im not into chambered mufflers either.

Id suggest if you are going to buy a set of high end headers tho, look into accufab, the other brands charge a ton of money for a nice header that is built well but hangs really low to the ground. I dont understand how someone charges close to 1000 dollars for headers and then you put them on the car and have to worry about denting them up on bumps in the ground.
