how long have you had your car and how much have you spent?

just under 5 years. somewhere around 15k. seems like it should be a lot faster/nicer for the amount of money i have in it...

i always catch myself comparing what ive spent on my car to what i could of bought a new edge for, or what i could have bought a 4cyl roller for etc.

i love my car, dont regret anything ive done, but i guess as i get a little smarter, theres always ways i could have saved money, or gone a slightly different direction etc.

im sure this wont be my last fox though

91 notch = 25K plus, stopped counting

81 t top coupe = 12k still need a 408 so probably 20k when finished

02 stang = 7k

so i just realized in total own about 1 new 2011 5.0 stang if anyone wants to trade me an 11' 5.0 you can have all three of the stangs

the notch 4 years, and really about 300 bux..

my 98 gt: year and a half, and about $2500 in parts alone

all the other cars i have **** for around 25k in parts in receipts alone.. so i could be in a nice h/c/i c5 vette and ripping ass right now instead, but ive learned alot what NOT to do on the way here..

I bought my '89 in 1992 when it had about 30,000 miles on it, paid about $9,000 for it. I can't complain about this car at all. I've put over 200K miles on it myself. I haven't really put that much money into it with just basically a few bolt ons (sig). I thought about trading it a while back but newer Mustangs left me disappointed. The power to weight and bang for buck is incredible with these cars and it could not be cheaper to own. Of course you can put as much as you want into a car. I just finished the 5-lug conversion (rear drums for now) with new 17" wheels and tires so that was over $1,000 and I'm getting ready to dump a bundle into it for engine, transmission, suspension, paint and maybe a power adder ! :flag:

For all you guys who think you've got it bad, I've had the car for ~6 years and I figure I've got about 18k into it, and ITS STILL PRETTY MUCH STOCK. Bought the car for $4600, taxes, tires, new exhaust, etc. to get it certified bring it probably around $5500. Minor accident 4 months later so I picked up some Cervini pieces had a bunch of bodywork done and paint $7000 total. All together with tires, brakes, etc. I spent almost $2000 on my 5-lug conversion (still has drum brakes, no clue how the hell that happened lol). $1000 for gears, trac-lok, sub-frames all installed at a shop, $1400 recently for springs/dampers/cc plates and new brake pads up front. Broke the engine last year so new engine has probably $600 into it. Plus all the other randoms like cat-back, control arms, etc. I've somehow managed to spend 18kish on a car with minor suspension, catback, and 5-lug conversion. The worst part is, road-course driving means the front bumper is peppered with stone chips, the front bumper's paint is cracked/chipped from the tow-truck driver's cable, and the left-front fender lip is all messed up from when I rolled the lip to stop the tires rubbing. Also a bunch of scratches on the rear bumper from my parents moving junk around in the garage, so I basically need 1/2 the car re-painted again. FML

Mine WAS a 5.0. I have had it since 05' I think. I dropped a 306 in it, changed out gears at least 3 times (dumb) and then got into a 12mph tap on my airbag sensors with an SUV (some1 ran out in front of him). Then I dropped a whole lot of $$ converting it to a beast (streetable). Over $25k with labor.

I have had mine for about 6 years and I have spent over 40k on it Thanks to doing things twice and messing crap up at times and not skimping on anything. I'm freaking done now. Thank you lord. Once u actually figure it out its kind of disgusting.
