I was comming home from work friday and all of a sudden it loooked like spy hunter! I was leaving a huge smoke screen behind me!I pull over and shut it down opened the hood and oil everwhere!Thought hummmm? So i start it and look WOW thats funny all of a sudden i blew a valver cover gasket????So well i had to get towed. Fixed the gasket and put a new PVC on (just incase) and started it again to check for leaks, holy **** i got a leak! It's comming from 2 of the holes in my head i have circled in the pics! They are the hole where your acc would bolt to. I have never had anything bolted into these holes,or even ran a bolt into them in the year in a half i have had them!So WTF why all of a sudden would oil just come pukeing out like crazy!!!!! Heres a pic of what i'm talking about! peace

better yet, use a flashlight/inspection mirror and look into the holes after cleaning with spray solvent - then pull the head if needed. If it's small cracks, put some tape on bolts and close them up.

I contacted AFR and they said "weird" and to pull them off and send them in.I tried to use some plugs and the bottom hole sealed but the upper hole still leaked. I used green loctite but i might not of got all the oil out of them?Or i didnt let the loctite cure all the way?90lxcoupe I run 50/50 mix for coolant.tmoss are you talking like teflon tape?Bullitt95 :rlaugh: smart ass!So what would you guys do? Would you pull them off and send them in for warrenty?Or just try to seal the holes up with some sealant and plugs? peace

I would def pull them off. That is not right. I would not feel good using sealent to seal it up, something is going on in there. That sucks dude, AFR has a good reputation, if they are saying to send them in theres a good chance they will warranty them, its obvious its not misuse or abuse, id for sure take them off

Well i'm so ashamed to even be posting on here now! :nonono: So i get the plugs sealed and put in and it still leaked.....well i thought?Comes to find out my mechanical oil pressure gauge tube had a very very very small hole in it!It was spraying out onto the head and was hitting right where the plug was at!Unhooked the tube and no more oil leaks!peace

It's good you found out before removing the head... you DID, didn't you??? I'm not sure how you missed it when you did the start up test on the roadside, unless it was dark(just gave you an excuse).

Hey, at least you didn't have to pay a major repair fee or go through the embarrassment of having sent them in to AFR only to be told, "You had oil on the outside... and a shipping fee, but cleaning was no charge!"

Oh, and I 2nd the DON'T use nylon hoses comment!
