h/c/i questions

i dont really know much about cars but im in the process of getting h/c/i for my swap on my 94gt . im looking at a trickflow track heat for $350, then save up for trickflow twisted wedge heads used and a trick flow stage 1 cam. now my questions are would i need to get the intake or heads ported? my next question is if i bought the heads used what would i need to do to them to get them ready for install? and after it all how much power should i be putting down with that setup and bbk off road h pipe, 4.10s and flowmaster 44s? all input and advice will be greatly appreciated.

you should get bigger MAF, throttle body, and injectors while your at it. your gonna need rockers too. then since your that far might as well put new lifters and push rods. you should be around 280-300 with all the supporting mods.

If you get used heads that are in good shape, you should'nt have to do anything to them. As fas porting goes get the intake done...I would leave the heads alone.
I agree with what GTS said, about the other things you need. Also now would be the time for a new/better Radiator as well. It will be comming off to do a cam install.

even though its a track heat intake in good condition i should still get it ported?

try it first. if you dont like it get it ported later. intake isnt bad to change. i put on performer heads with cobra intake. it pulled nice. than i got an old performer RPM with mild port work and it felt better and took some time off my 1/4mile. i do not know much about the trick flow stuff. but alot of people like it.

ok. i dont know much about building an engine but i will be buying peice buy peice over winter and when i get everything i need then ill be saving for a blower.

You won't gain much with port work with that cam. It should make good power without messing with the ports. If you can swing it, a good valve job on the heads usually helps a lot, but isn't necessary.

I know you won't be buying the whole kit, but Trick Flow makes a complete top end kit.

The idea is to have a "bolt-on" system that works together.

Damn near all the parts you mentioned are in the kit, so unless you are looking to build an absolute beast of a car...wouldn't worry too much about porting things.

With all of those mods you might want to upgrade your fuel pump and regulator.
