so my car got water inside about 3 weeks ago ( clogged cowl drain ). a few days ago my passenger air bag light started coming on and off. left it at the dealership seeing that its under warrenty. they called me today and told me the reason the air bag light is coming on is because the aftermarket HIDs are sending off a RF signal and messing with the air bag module, relay boxes and smart box. i was just wondering if anyone else has heard this explanation. HIDS have been in for 2 months and the problem just happened.

If your lights are not on and the ballasts not receiving power, the dealer is full of it and dodging your repair. Ask them how OEM cars, including Fords can have HID lights. In fact, if they happen to have an HID equipped vehicle nearby, point to it and ask why it doesn't suffer the same fate.

Near impossible.

RF signal = Radio Frequency

ONLY cause interference if BOTH your HIDs and your airbag sensor were on wireless setups and sent there signals via RF

i've never seen any car company waste money to make their airbag sensor wireless. HIDs would only have an RF signal if you have a wireless controller for them (usually only used if you have strobes and or halos for car shows)
