I'm new to foxbodys and coming for a 4cyl civic si. What's mod's would pull a 1987 fox into the 13's, preferably mid 13's. Yes I know the driver plays a big part and I would like to try and do it without slicks if at all possibly. I know some are gonna say search, but I'm just wondering what mods specifically will get me in the 13's.

i have pretty much completely stock motor. only mods are headers, full exhaust, GT40p heads off a 97 mercury mountaineer that i ported and polished and gasket port matched the stock intake manifold. im currently running 13.89 @104 mph. on some bald ass street tires.

is your car a 5 speed or aod? it won't take much to get you into the 13's. if you have a healthy running car, you don't even need to do engine "performance" mods. gears, exhaust and good traction will get you there easy.

Its doesnt take much to get a fox into the 13's. Get a set of gears.(3.73 or 3.55) the basic boltons like headers, pulleys, SFC's, some weight reduction and drive the thing like you stole it and youll be in the 13's.

Thats whats done to mine and on et streets im running 13.3s

Like people have said- gears, exhaust, and drag radials will easily put you in the 13s. Don't forget to play with your timing advance, too.

Some guys manage 12s without touching the motor, but that is running skinnies up front, weight reduction, CAI+ bigger aftermarket MAF meter, built suspension, pulleys and a short belt, no sway bar, etc.

You may already be aware of this, but you could be a lot faster with a better intake, TB, aftermarket MAF meter, and a decent CAI. GT40P heads are capable of 12s, especially if they've been worked. Running all that stock stuff and that underhood air filter is choking those heads!

Thanks for the input. It's a 5 speed, stock headers, no cats, straight back exhaust, and a cold air kit. Not 100% sure on brands because I just bought the car. It also has 3.73's in it. Much faster then my supercharged civic si. In the civic an sti would put 6-7 cars on me in a matter of seconds. In the fox I'm about 1-2 cars back at about 75 mph. I am very happy with the car so far. Needs a little bit of work and I'm prob gonna need some help from you guys with some answers.

i know it is. im working on getting a E-cam and trick flow intake setup. but the car needs other things first before all that. thanks tho
