Detailed article on Coyote engine

Seems like a very interesting article, which may be read over the course of days... Pages and pages...

The new Getrag manual is not really all that new insofar as design characteristics. We'll see how it handles power, but from the little I've read, I actually expect it to be every bit as strong as the Tremec used in various other applications, though maybe not stronger(might be weaker) than the Viper version. It has benefits though, to help it survive, particularly in the ratios and the case design. I can't say much for the torque rating, but it seems the output of this engine already exceeds the rating and we're not hearing of breakage yet. The "skip shift" feature simply blows impo, but that's government involvement.

Hopefully the new tranny will hold up well. It is quite odd that it's rated with a torque capacity of 375lb. ft. but the 5.0 makes 390lb. ft........wtf is up with that?
