Tranny going. What are my options?

Hey guys.

So it seems my transmission is finally taking a ****. I have the T45 (2000 GT) 5-speed and just want to know what people typically do when theirs go out. Do I buy a new T45? Aftermarket tranny? Have it rebuilt? And how much coin am I looking at?

Here's my symptoms:
* I'm gettin "wall hits" that occur when the car is either cold or hot. Normally it'll happen trying to get it into 1st.

* Twice in the past 30-40 miles I've had the shifter feel like it's "pushing back". By that, it feels like it's grinding while changing gears. This happened once going into first at a slow roll and once going into 5th. It feels like I'm pushing the shifter and the tranny was pushing back. It only pushed back 2-3 times though and then let me get into gear. Very strange feeling.

* I do hear some more grinding now while shifting. Not all the time, but it will make a grinding noise and sometimes belt-like squeaking noises while shifting.

Take it to a transmission shop and find out what is wrong and how much to fix before making any decisions.

yea, haven't gotten around to that yet. It could be a simple syncro issue, but with the supercharger on it, I need to debate rebuilding the t45 or beefing it up to the t56 for future stability.

It all depends on how much of a difference $$ wise...:notnice:

theres kits on ebay with the t56, crossmember, and cobra driveshaft for around 2k....you could probably peice one together for around 15-1700.. maybe less depending on where you find the tranny
