Love my Stang, but don't know how you guys who drive them daily do it

I normally drive my car 2-3 days a week. I've got a F150 Supercab that I've had since new in 2003. My BIL borrowed my truck for a week while his car was worked on. 7 days of draggin my son out of the back seat, and the cramped space plus the rough ride of the lowered stance drove me crazy. I couldn't wait to get back in my truck for a few days. Of course, about 4 days in my truck and I'm back in love with my Stang again.;) That's how the balance works for me. 3-4 days in my truck with a day or so sprinkled in of my Stang for fun.:D

I like it because it sounds good, is relatively fast, gets relatively fuel mileage, I'm relatively small and fit more than comfortably in it, and when others ride, I tell them they just have to deal with the small space and getting in and out. If they can't, then too bad.

I DD'd it for about two years, then saw my Jeep just sitting there collecting mildew and decided it would be a good idea to put some miles back on it, and off the GT.

It's got a bit more room and I don't feel bad if it gets dirty.

I don't drive from the back seat so I could care less about the lack of room back there for other people. My dad told me that when he was a young lad in his '71 Cuda people complained about the same stuff then but gave them the same answer. Back to the op I have the stang as a dd because its a relatively cheap car and its fun to drive. If I gotta have a dd its gotta look good and sound good as well. I want to upgrade this car alot but knowing its a dd is making me think otherwise.. Besides I got a '72 Cuda waiting for me to throw an elephant and all my money at it :nice: even though it might be not the right name on this site its what I grew up around so its what I know...

honestly i don't care about the mileage, it's part of owning one. it turns head just by the way it looks and not to mention the way it sounds. i'm sitting at a redlight with the windows down and i can go into a trance from a sewing machine like whirr coming from under the hood. plus it has magnetic properties.

I love driving mine everyday. Just like other have echoed about the performance, sound and gas milage. If I had to use the back sit everyday, that may change my mind about it. During the winter months I only drive it once and a while. Pearl02.

I can't see why I'd drive something else. Most of the people I work with are convinced I spend a mint on gas, but when it comes down to it I have a shorter commute than most and actually spend less on gas than folks driving crappy FWD economy cars. And if I had a family I'd consider a sedan, but I don't so I don't :D I don't give rides to more than one or two people that often so I don't see the need for a bigger car. And it's nice being able to park in tight spots, as I live in a city.

I haven't lower mine because I didn't want a crappier ride. And I need all the ground clearance I can get to get down my alley in the winter.

It isn't so bad when the car is stock, but once you start changing stuff that makes DD the mustang harder. My wife has an 06 GT that she DD. In fact it's her 3rd daily mustang she has had. All have been bone stock, and drove to the wheels feel off. My 02 was never meant to be a DD, so I have had some sort of daily since 01. Even two of them have been mustangs. I really didn't like either of them being a daily, so both times I went back with a truck.

I a DD for several reasons, here they are.

1. Stupid people who can't park correctly in the lot I park in.(already hit the DD)
2. Rain. I have a dirt driveway(long one)I refuse to drive the GT on it after it rains.
3. It keeps the miles off the GT, cause I know it will be a long time before I can get another.

I dont DD mine, but if it's nice outside, then I drive it. My brother and I travel together for our job's, so I just leave mine in my garage and we take his 04 tahoe when we go to a job somewhere. But if it's bad weather, I have someone come pick me up.

My car is below and my wife dd's a 2010 GT. 99% of the time it is me driving to work or her riding shotgun. Rarely do I ever have 3 or even 4 people riding along (or 8 one time :) )I like the stiff ride, like the sound, like the performance. I couldn't imagine driving a truck every day, frankly I would get bored. Trucks are for hauling tools, boats, and trailers. Not a good dd in my mind.

i could never use my 02 for daily driving...tooo much done to it at this point makes dd a pita. i just got rid of my beater dd tauras for a 98 gt vert dd. the car is stock and so far i like it for a dd....but its summer.

I DD mine with a few exceptions. Car goes into storage the week before the weather man says it's gonna snow, and doesn't come out til spring. My way of justifying putting all the miles on it.

Drove a Taurus through this last winter. I didn't give a crap about it. Beat the hell out of it to get around. Sold it in the spring cause it had coolant issues. Made $400 bucks off selling it.

Only thing I really hate about my stang is the nice paint on it. I can't feel comfortable parking next to someone.

Ok, the sun is back out, no rain expected until Friday maybe, off work for 8 days starting at 5p today and the wifey is out of town until Sunday. I see some washing, waxing and cruising in my near future.

My GT has been my daily driver for over 5 years now, and was my only car until about a month ago, when I bought the Miata. I drive the Mustang in rain, snow, ice, cold, heat, etc. It's taken it all like a champ. In fact, its "maiden voyage" after installing the blower was in 4-5 inches of fresh powder up at Penn State. In the winter, I throw the Blizzaks on, and have no trouble getting around. I was one of the only people out on the roads this past winter when we got sacked in Philadelphia. Watching SUV drivers gape in astonishment as a Mustang out-accelerates them in snow is priceless.

I know that eventually I'll probably have a wife and kids and will need to drive a boring car, but while I'm single, I'm taking full advantage of the fact.

I couldn't drive mine daily the way it is. Mine stays set up for the track, but I do use it as a fill in vehicle for when one of the DD's is in the shop. Gotta love adjustables.

Besides I got a '72 Cuda waiting for me to throw an elephant and all my money at it :nice: even though it might be not the right name on this site its what I grew up around so its what I know...
My first car was a stang and 35 years later I'm still driving one, but I'd trade you my right gonad for that 'cuda any day.

Sorry to digress. Carry on...
