All Season Tires

I've had a set of those before. They aren't the best all-season for driving through snow and ice, but probably the best for the rest of the year. And they aren't bad on ice and snow, they're just not comparable to a real snow tire.

I'd say do it.

I JUST mounted those tires to the front of my car, except the ones I got are the design before those. I picked them up for $150. My experience with BFG tires are that they wear sort of fast, but always have great grip. I only run BFGs if I get a really good deal on them. There's plenty of other tires that last longer, look better tread-wise, and are cheaper.

What would be some of the other choices of tires you suggest? Thanks. Pearl02.

My car won't see any snow or ice at all. I have snow tires for my winter truck and they do work great. Thanks man. Pearl02.

I run the BFG KDWS tires and I have used them in severe winter conditions with no issues.
Kilgore have you used this particular tire? How's the tread hold up? I'm looking for them to last 3yrs of driving. I do very little winter driving except on nice days. Thanks. Pearl02

The tread pattern is ugly and they handle like %$#@.
Ive tried AS tires but once you get hooked on summer tires you cant go back.
Plus it never gets all that cold here.....:D

Have you actually used these tire before? The tread pattern doesn't concern me. If you can back up the poor handling properties of the tire, I will gladly listen to you. Pearl02.

I don't know if you are going to get 3 years of driving from any tire on a V8 Mustang. But if you ever drive in cold weather, all-seasons work far better than summer tires. And if you aren't driving in snow, snow tires are worse than all-seasons for noise and handling.

Actually I gotten about 3yrs out of the tires I put on the car. I know that is about the max life I can get out of them. I have snow tires on my truck and they are noisey. When I put my all season tires back on the truck, I notice how quiet they are. Thanks man. Pearl02.

Not that exact tire, no. I did run a set of Kumho ASX on my 99 gt once.
They wandered around (tracking) on the highway really bad and they were
255's. The sidewalls flex too much as well. I bought them hopeing to get
more miles out of them than summer tires. Only got 25k.
Summer tires have bigger more stout tread blocks and stiffer sidewalls from what Ive seen.
But since it doesnt get that cold here .... dont really need AS tires.
If summer tire didnt handle way better they wouldnt be so popular.

Mine didn't last particularly long because I have a bit of negative camber.

Yeah, I'm aware how dirty it was in those pictures. I drive the thing almost every day.

I'm looking at when I bought those tires actually, and it's been a lot longer than I thought. I had those fronts mounted on 11/23/07, at around 75,000 miles. I'm currently at just under 110,000 miles nearly 3 years later. I just had those tires replaced last week. If I had adjustable camber plates, I'm sure I could have had the car aligned properly and the tires would still be just fine. There was still a decent amount of tread left on the rest of the tire that wasn't wrecked from the camber.

Either way, if you do look at new tires, get one with a good UTQG. That's 'Universal Tire Quality Grade'. There's a lot of variables that affect the number given for the UTQG, but generally speaking, the higher the number in this category, the harder the tire.

I have the Kumho ASX for my car, bought them because it gets pretty cold hear in the winter months and so far I'm pretty happy with them. Great wet traction in case I get caught in a random rain storm. They corner pretty well but they do seem to wander a bit especially on uneven roads.

I've got a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX KU21 all around for daily driving. I will recommend them to anyone who DD's their car or drives it in any rain/adverse conditions. They have a higher price tag, but also come with a warranty.

I do have some tracking issues in the front, but that's what you get when you have 275/40/17's.

Look pretty decent too:

Edit:
Even with the large size of my front tires, these tires do not hydroplane. I've been through a lot of water at highway speeds without an issue. Cornering is unbelievable for the size of the car.
