New owner of a 88 GT, my 1st mustang!!!! YAY

Just wanted to post that i got a 88 GT yesterday. 86k original miles, H&H strengthend T-5, mac headers, H pipe, dual flowmasters, MSD ignition, GT40 upper and lower, E7 heads, mild cam, 8.8 rear with 373's, King cobra clutch, new drag suspension, cobra R wheels, mystic blue paint, aftermarket hood.

I have 1 question.... this is my 1st mustang, and wanted to know if hearing the tranny is a mustang thing? It is upgraded, and has a king cobra clutch.... but when driving I can hear the gears whining/spinning when im on the gas and off under load..... Didnt know if thats normal? Its very strong, no grinds and is smooth as butter. Just hearing the tranny gears (if thats what it even is) is bad or normal? Picture below. also how much is this car worth, want to see if i got a good deal?

welcome aboard! get ready to be continually broke :p.

good looking car, should be fun on the streets.

it's common for t5's to whine, especially if they're old (even if they've been rebuilt). i wouldn't worry about it. just make sure the fluid is full. you have to climb under the car to do this. go under on the passenger side. on the side on the transmission, you'll see two plugs that you can fit a socket wrench with an extension in (no socket). one is on the bottom (drain plug), the other is about half way up the case. pull the top plug and stick your finger in the whole and feel how low the fluid is. the fluid should come all the way up to the hole. if it's low, you can either fill it through the same hole (you'll need a pump to do so), or you can pull the shifter and fill it through the shifter opening (least tools, easiest way, imo)

as said before it is common for them to whine. I've noticed that you'll hear it more with a short throw shifter for some reason. Guessing it has something to do with the thick aluminum cover plate.

Thanks guys. I paid $3500. Runs good and strong. Also came with 2 good tires, and next paycheck getting 2 more.

What should my next mods be, best bang for the buck? It has 373's, so should I do 410's? Or work on the intake side more? Im debating on what to do next. It has GT40 upper and lower, so should i look at getting a trickflow intake to replace the gt40?

brakes and suspension

Suspension is done, as it was all replaced or upgraded with drag springs. New calipers and rotors in front also. Still has drums in the back, so is there a upgrade kit for the rear?

yeah but you still have stock control arms, no panhard bar, stock struts and shocks, no sub frame connectors, etc. And you can have a BRAND new stock brakes, **** you could have the best pads ever made and still wont stop very well, you need to upgrade to 94 or better brakes

Make sure you check it like Cenok stated. otherwise you'll have T-5 salad!

Looks like a nice deal. If you do any highway driving I would go with 3.73's with the T-5. 4.10's on a stockish mustang are better suited to the AOD.

Knew you'd say that.:D

It has E7 heads, is that the same as GT40 heads? What about upgrading them to something better? Or is it not worth it?

I switched from MR2 turbos, to mustangs.... so everything is new to me.... sorry if I ask stupid questions... I have been into and building MR2's for 10+ years and thats all i have worked on and known. Looking for 300rwhp with this mustang. From the feel I would say i have around 250rwhp now. But a dyno is in my future
