Hey guys I am looking at buying a 97 6 cyl body with a 351 windsor motor that is bored 30 over, w 305 cams and springs, an edelbrock intake mani, shorty headers, SINGLE flowmaster exhaust, and 20" wheels. Now I know roughly what this should put down, and went on a test drive yesterday. It seemed very slow for a 351 windsor. The idle is nice and smooth, which worries me because of the cam it is supposed to have. its not leaking, smoking, overheating etc. Do you think a single exhaust, and 20" chrome wheels will make a huge difference in speed? I don't want to buy it and find out its not a Windsor. I have heard tips of what a Windsor looks like, and how to tell if it is a Windsor. Some of them were that it will have 6 bolts instead of 8 on the valve cover, the air filter will be about an inch above the spot where the distributor goes into the block. Well it has the 6 bolts on the valve cover, the air filter is about an inch above where the distributor mounts to the block. I tested the car yesterday and looking at making a decision today, but need some more advice. The 20's will be off right after I buy it and dumps will be put on lol just so everyone here knows....Thanks for any fast help!
