Love my Stang, but don't know how you guys who drive them daily do it

The DD/ Beater thing doesnt work for me... I just want 1 good car thats fun to drive
every day. Im not driving a %#&$ car for any reason. Lifes too short to drive a beater. I tried driving my daughters car while she went out of town,
(really my car as I paid 8K for it, in my name) a 2002 VW beetle. Really
runs good and handles awesome. After 2 days I couldnt take it any more,
could have drove it all week but I had to get back to the stang.
And yes I did remove the flower in the vase....

I don't drive mine daily because I have a SVT Focus, BMW Z4 and a 02 Harley F150 so I have to give them all some love. But when I want to feel good about being me, I get out the "Batmobile". 2000 Vortech'ed GT. There is nothing like the sound of a Vortech supercharged 4.6 at idle...then you open it up and the Magnaflows sing their song!! 12.5 in the quarter, 25+mpg and 171 mph top speed (at Talladega). Life is good!!

Be careful with that. Daily drivers need to be above everything else, dependable, right? As a rule, I've found the farther you start to get <12 sec the more the scale begins to tip from dependability toward maintenance.

I figure if I could drive a low 11 high 10 second neon without issues then the Mustang should be a breeze. Also I kind of over build things so that the level I drive around at is easy for the build. The rear end that is going in the guy puts in his 7second cars so I figure should make easy work of what power I make.

If you drive the car as you are building it, you get used to the way it drives slowly. You get to experience the mods as you do them, and always have something big to look forward to , like forced induction. Some people buy fast cars right out of the box, and it takes them a while to get used to the power.

I drive my car until the tank is empty, then I drive the beater Saturn or the Bronco until payday, when I fill the 'Stang back up. If there's only two friends with me, we'll take the 'Stang around. If there's 3 or more, it's the 'urn.

WHen its lowered .. it does kind of suck bad!! You feel every pot hole.. you bottom out on every dip in the road from ****ty repairs. Its terrible.. you have to drive around like you have $6000 1 of 1 wheels you cant damage.

When its snowing.. it SUCKS BIG DONKEY BALLS.

But thats the price of owning a sexy car!

I bet you have a mental log of all the spots around town that have bottomed you out previously, and what lane you need to be in when you get to that spot. I know I do.

It's one of the reasons why I got rid of mine. DDing it just got old. I was always cleaning it to keep it new looking, couldn't take more than three people in it, couldn't drive in snow, and i was starting to want a nice mature car to drive around in and take on a date and stuff. Every time I picked up a new date in my gt...I felt immature.

I guess I wanted a fun sophisticated car, so I traded it in for my g35 and love the car. It's everything I want....but it's not a mustang.

I still have my 5.0 fox, but rarely drive it. I've had the itch for another new edge and miss my 03 gt. Part of me debates selling it to get a 03/04 cobra vert or a Mach 1. Then I can keep it clean and garaged and take it out when I need some relaxation.

But as for dding a mustang....I don't think I could do that again, unless it was a fully loaded '11 gt with heated seats, nav, hids and other creature comforts. I admit I am spoiled now and need specific features in a car to enjoy it.

I hope you don't leave the power stock for long in the G35

Ya, i do, but then i always seem to hit something i missed before in the lane i thought i was perfect and it shakes the car to hell and back.

Also, unless i find a girl that likes mustang. She wont like how the stang rides or smells  My current girl met me when i had the 4.6L GT with o/r h mac dumps but stock suspension so she used to it, but hates it @ the same time :rlaugh:

blah blah blah...couldn't drive in snow...blah blah blah

What is it with people saying you can't drive a Mustang in snow? I love the way my car handles in snow. Just get a set of snow tires, throw them on your stock wheels, and be done with it.

In your case, this complaint makes even less sense, since you replaced the Mustang with another RWD car. How can you argue that the Infiniti is any better in snow than the Mustang?

I guess a better way to say it is I want to be comfortable in the snow. I have a 30 mile commute to work and the thought of getting caught there when some real slick stuff comes down is an uneasy feeling. I have driven it in the snow....I drove mustangs for 10 years in the snow...I guess i wanted to relax a bit in the snow.

The g35x is awd like you have figured out :D it's incredible in the snow...I can't get it stuck. Its basically point and shoot and I love it. 2 feet of snow and I'll take it for a spin and get coffee without even shoveling the driveway. :nice:

There are other reasons I bought it though...snow wasn't the only.
