Foxes Just Sound The Best

Ok, I've been trolling YouTube for the last few days listening to exhaust clips from Foxbody Mustangs, 05+ Mustangs, New Challengers and Camaros, Vettes and I just have to say I don't like the way any of them sound near as well as I like 5.0 Foxes. I've been doing all this searching because whenever I see one of these newer cars on the street I'm immediately drawn to how the exhaust sounds and I'm always disappointed. I don't know if it's because they are all doing the exhaust with the mufflers right at the back of the car now or just the OHC valve trains or both, but in my opinion all these newer cars just can't beat the sound of the good ole 5.0. I did find a few I liked, but most of them, video quality aside, were disappointing. I just wanted to put that out there for everyone in 5.0 talk land that knows what I'm talking about.

And just for kicks, I think all exhaust demo videos should be shot like the one below.

Can't get the embed code to work so here's the link:

The 4.6 can sound pretty wicked, too. But I do think 5.0s are one of the best sounding engines out there. I cream my pants everytime i get to hear mine from the outside.

4V 4.6!!!

I love the sound of a 4V 4.6 as it approaches 7K at WOT.

I also think that you can't beat the sound of a pushrod at idle, even if it isn't cammed. The computer is constantly struggling to keep the engine running, so the rpms are gently pulsing and the exhaust lightly pops from time to time as the computer plays with the injectors and the ignition timing. The newer EFI systems keep the idle so quiet and still, there almost isn't any character in it.

I do like the 4 valves. I have heard many of them I like. Did anyone watch the video? It really is pretty cool even though it's not a Stang.
