what clutch should I get?

just put on an 03 cobra clutch, used the stock flywheel, Steeda adj cable and quad. I love the clutch grabs great no issues stock pedal feel, is as nice as my $1500 spec dual disc on the 91

There are a ton of clutch options out there. First determine what you want to do in the future- are you going to stay bolt-on or are you adding FI / nitrous. If you are staying bolt-on then probably the best clutch would be the stock clutch or something very similar. If you are looking to FI/ nitrous in the future than look at the power levels, the clutch material, and what other people have said about the clutch.

I'm looking to FI in the future (want stock terminator power levels) so I upgraded to a Exedy Mach 400 clutch with fidanza aluminum flywheel. Feels great but there is slightly increased pedal effort. Otherwise if I was staying bolt on I probably would have stayed with the stock clutch and maybe an aluminum flywheel.

I'd go with the spec stage 2 plus its worth the extra cash and its a clutch you can build on.. If your doing the swap yourself you only want to do this once. The tranny/ and bellhousing combo is a pain in the #$%. also spec sends you a new pilot bearing and throw out bearing. SPEC Clutches & Flywheels: Auto Parts, Domestic, Import, Truck, Racing, Drifting :: Home will let you look up any clutch that can be put onto your car. I've tried a centerforce and left it all over norwalk raceway in 4 passes..

I haven't been looking hard, but I've been doing some searching for what clutch people are running.

That being said, I read somewhere that RAM sells re-man stuff? I would assume only pressure plate. Seems a little pricey for a re-man pressure plate.

The MMR clutches are amazing. A freind of mine is using one in his turbo 93 cobra. The car made in the 430ish to the wheels. It's their "stage 1" clutch. It holds it just fine, stock pedal feel. PLUS, it's only $230. It's what clutch I will be going to for sure!

Clutch kits that I have had over the years;

King Cobra: was an ok clutch, but did not last long.

Spec stage 1:worst clutch ever, wayyy to stiff and chattered a ton. Hated the feel

Centerforce Dual friction: really good clutch N/A, can't hold the power when im running 9lbs of boost and above, 410rwhp/510rwtq.:notnice:

If your going N/A for sometime I would get the Centerforce, it has the softest pedal feel,no chatter and grabs well. And as for me, im upgrading to the DFX and see how it does.:nice:
