ok iam about to supercharge my 2004 auto gt i like vortec but they dont have a intercooled kit they have the power cooler but imo its a pos.. procharger offers intercooled kits but everyone is talking bout belt problems i dont want to deal with all the belt problems... so i guess i want to install a standard kit from vortec tunner kit of corse, and install a intercoller. which means ill need a intercooler and pipeing any opinions or help would be appreaciated

I run a Vortech S trim with an Vortech A/W intercooler and I absolutely love it. I can get the temp down much farther by icing the reservoir than I ever could with ambient air. The general school of thought is the Paxton A/A works better with a Vortech, and while they are excellent, I disagree they're better. We run in excess of 100 degrees regularly here. POS? Hardly! Plus the like Vortech components make for a much smoother installation.

I also have a friend that has the same Vortech setup in a Roush stage 2 that runs in the 11's.

i agree iceing it down would work great but for daily driving air 2 air to me seems better way to go vortec is a better charger in my opinion and easy install but gets more difficult when intercooling whats the easiest way to accomplish this.... charge tubes n which intercooler should i use ?

the vortec power cooler is great for the track. imo .where u can pack it with ice not practical for everyday driving. once the water heats up i dont feel u will get much of a drop in intake temp , i know it has a small heat exchanger . the alchol / water injection is interesting though thanks for the help any help or info is apreciated... iam looking for around 400 rwhp and tring to keep down air intake temp

I second the meth. I have a meth system. It is a simple, safe, very effective solution. Get the vortech and go meth if that's the blower you really like. If you really want an intercooler though you can pick up an ebay kit for like $200. MANY people have used them here with good results. There was a thread maybe a year back specifically about the ebay one. On the thread it mentioned one trusted seller that made a great product. Look for the thread, or maybe someone will chime in with who that is or a link to the thread.

meth = :nice:

the only belt problems ive had were caused by the stock by-pass valve. It wouldnt pass enough air and stall the compressor and wear the belt. Ive upgraded to a mondo blow off valve and its hasnt been an issue.. I'f i had known i would have went twin turbo.

I have a non intercooled Vortech V2 SQw/3.33 pulley 11# of boost w/a Stratosphere Porsche bypass and I have run my car hard at Barbers Motorsport Park in 90 deg weather for 30 minute sessions and never seen more than 123 degrees on the IAT.
