hey guys im working on a friends car, its a stone stock 94 gt t5 car, it wont turn over! i have put a new starter, new alternator, new ground, new power wire to the starter, new battery.. im at a loss.. the neutral safety switch is good. it just clicks when you turn the key, thats all it will do, it was just like a thud, when the starter would just kick out, now it is like, the batt is dead..

If it clicks, the interlock circuit should be ok.

What exactly was replaced? Are the battery cables new? Is the engine-to-frame ground intact?

Were the new battery and starter bench tested before purchasing?

If you jump the starter solenoid (be sure the car is in neutral and the emergency brake is applied), does it crank?

The solenoid is piggybacked on the starter, as it is on your '98.

If you properly jumped the piggyback solenoid, chances are that the battery is dead/bad, the starter cable or connections is/are bad, the motor ground is bad or the solenoid or starter is bad.

What was the car doing before all the parts were replaced? Same thing?

I have the kind of the same problem. I have a 95 gt and my car won't turn over at all. I have had the starter and alternator tested and they both passed. i bought a new a battery and new solenoid. the starter relay is fine. I have no clue what is wrong with it. it doesn't even click. please help. thanks

I ran into this same problem when I was diagnosing a no start on my car. Did all the same things that you have done and still couldn't figure out what the problem was. Took me a good month to figure out what was finally going on, in between work and what not. Finally started to grasp at straws and for some reason i unplugged the ccrm and tried to start the car and it cranked over. With the ccrm plugged in it wouldnt cranak over. I know that common logic says that the ccrm has nothing to do with the starter circuit but this is what fixed my problem. 94-95 Mustangs Electrical CCRM - Mustang-Tech did a search on the internet and came up with this link to the ccrm. might help might not. Hope you get it figured out.
