Hi all, who is running or knows of a muffler brand that on the quiet side. I have run magna flows, flowmasters, spintech and others. I drive the car more and want something on the quiet side. Any Help??

Magnaflows are usually pretty quiet, mabye run a small race type(bullet style) muffler right before the regular muffler like a resonator to quiet it down more

Have you seen the new dynomax VT's? They are similar to the Ford perf. ones with a valve to keep them quiet and go to straight through at WOT. I'm really considering these if i can find some feedback/reviews on them. They're SS and have lifetime warranty, plus 90 day perf. guarantee (that they perform well and you'll like the sound I guess?).
Summit has a $25 rebate on dynomax too.

Feedback on these anyone?

I have a set of Dynomax(not sure of the model) but they were quiet for me on my '67, it was stock at the time if that helps and as a matter of fact I won't be using them when my rebuilt motor goes in b/c I like loud :D so you could acquire them if ya want..

X3 on dynomax's. I've got a set on my V8 Ranger and with an equalizer chamber ahead of the turbos , combined with full tailpipes, it's pretty damned quiet with just a hint of mellow tone

Are you running the Super Turbos or the new straight through versions? I have the Super Turbo version now and was thinking of swapping to the new straight through style but was concerned over noise.

I prefer straight through to chambered. I run Dynomax Ultraflow. I had Flowmaster before and can't stand them.

It looks like you want something quieter than that. Of the straight through mufflers, Magnaflow is the most mellow I have heard. It does sound really nice though.

You might consider Dynomax Super Turbo. They are not loud. They just give it that nice V8 rumble.

I like those 2 way mufflers 2+2 posted.

How quiet do you want it?

i'm planning on running a set of the Dynomax "Hemi" Turbo muffs on my 69 Cougar. they are basically just a regular dynomax turbo but they have a good bit longer case, about 4-5" longer IIRC. might be a tight fit but shouldn't be a problem.

alternatively, you could run a late 70's cadillac eldorado muffler. Hot Rod (or maybe it was Car Craft) magazine did a muffler shootout back in the mid 90's or so and the Eldo muffs were the quietest of all the muffs tested and were like 3rd in airflow which is pretty darn good

hipo_p51, I have a set of magnaflows that are an exact replacement for a 64 - 66 Mustang. There is no restriction and are very quite. I actually think that are too quiet.

Research I did indicated that Dynomax Super Turbos were the quietest of the turbo mufflers. I have a 462 cubic inch FE motor with 428CJ exhaust manifolds feeding a 2.5" exhaust system with these mufflers. It is very quiet at idle with just a slight rumble and never has any resonance as you rev it up.
