Crank Evac or Catch Can?

I am wondering which is the way to go on a s/c engine? (If it matters)

Should I get a crankcase evac through the headers, or just get a catch can? I don't know if it makes a difference, I would think that the negative pressure in the block would help a tiny bit vs just a catch can. Also, how far behind the 02s and wideband should the evac be welded in?

Prob the wrong section, but they will both work just fine. The catch can will be easier to install but is a little more expensive. An evac kit like the moroso kit will work just fine but involves a little more work to install. Maybe not the answer you want but ultimately its up to you, which ever you have money for and which ever you think will look cleaner.

The Shop that done my tuning work and finished up some stuff on my car made one for me. Has a line going to each valve cover and then a surge tank and uses the turbo inlet to create a vac on the crankcase.

im using a moroso can with a single -12 line to the valve cover, but my motors NA, for boosted motors i have heard two lines is the way to go. Its not cheap but it works much better than a PCV system

My can and everything was fabricated. If you or you know someone who is good at welding, you can make a good looking one out of a piece of 3-4" aluminum piping.

and I can't stress it enough.......go with a big hose, minimum -12 otherwise you'll be blowing out gaskets........ask me how I know

if you buy the right can it will have a -12 fitting already on it

You can use -10an lines, just try to keep the can as high as possible in the engine bay so it will not want to pull oil, gravity is a bitch.

Do you run converters? If so the Evac kit isn't the best thing since if you do pull oil it can clog up the cat.

Here's a pic of a set-up I recently did -10 off each cover, -10 tee then to the can I fabricated and hid behind the passenger side shock tower.

No converters, so no issue there at all.

So it sounds like catch can is the way to go huh, not enough gain for the work involved in the evac kit huh? Especially since I have longtubes and would have to unbolt the engine to get them out....

Catch can is one of the best things i've done....got rid of the damn oil drip from the breather on valve cover. Got a couple pics in my sig if you wanna check them out.
