Can't believe I forgot to post this up. Finally found the time to take the 2011 to the local 1/4 mile diggs a couple of weekends ago. The weather conditions were less than optimal. Temp was 94° at 9:30pm (it only cooled to 88° by 12:30am) & D.A. was +2900.

The track was Prairie Hill Dragway, which isn't exactly the best track in the world, but has funtional timing equipment. Scott, the owner of the car, made 3 passes that were pretty impressive for the Texas heat/humidity & the less than optimal track surface. The one that made us drink a celebration beer was a 12.221 @ 111.55mph with a 1.599 60ft.

The car is a manual tranny, Brembo package with 3.73's.

Mods to the car were as follows:
SCT tuner
FRPP lowering Springs
Steeda rear swaybar relocation
15x10" Race Star rear wheels
Mickey Thompson 26x10 ET Drags

Since then, we've added a Hushpower Axle-Back & a Steeda CAI, so hopefully 11's will come in short order!

nice numbers! especially that 60 ft under 2sec

curious how you fit 15" rims over the brembos?! There are very few rims in the 18" size i can fit over mine...15" are completely out the question

Thanks!

We left the stock wheels on the front & used a Steeda Rear Swaybar Relocation on the back to clear the 15x10s. I'm guessing you have a Camaro from your sig; on the Mustang only the front is Brembo, the rears are standard issue.

If someone is cutting 2.0 60ft on a full slick, something is wrong!

Very impressive for a car with virtually no power mods. I would also imagine that the lowering springs probably hurt more than they helped.

Mid-11's, in the mid-teens will be a snap with the intake and exhaust mods along with some better air.

These 2011's continue to impress. :nice:

What I like most about the 1/4-mile numbers I'm seeing for the new GT is the trap speed. Typically GT's with good traction and gearing could put down a nice et but the mph would show they were down on power. 110+ is great to see.

Impressive indeed! We feel the same way, that the lowering springs are probably hurting more than the stock ones would have. Hopefully here in the next week or two we can get back to the track & see what the CAI & exhaust added!

Oooh, I never realized they were only front! good to know

as for the slicks...i failed to notice that part lol, i was thinking DOT tires. Still good #'s though.

Yeah, only the Camaro & Challenger got the rear Brembo brakes. Good for open track, but sucks if you want to mount some straight line meats.

Mustang got the nod for smaller rear brakes which is good for straight line, but leaves a little to be desired on the open track, even though it still works.

Update:

With the addition of a Steeda CAI, Stainless Works Longtubes, Hushpower Axle-Back, & BBR Custom Tune the car went 11.85 @ 114.95 in 100 degree heat.

Now with the air getting to a more reasonable temperature, we should see some real improvement with no other mods!

Update:

Went back to the track last weekend. Scott added RaceStar front runners & a Dynotech aluminum driveshaft. The air is finally cooling down, but still not mineshaft by any means.

The car went 11.51 @ 117.24 with a 1.53 60ft.

Going to try & make it back this coming Saturday for one last pass before they close the track for the year.
