thinking of buying this coupe but not sure if its a deal or not so heres the info:

66 C code coupe with 289 & C4 auto

The car does not run, apparently it has been sitting for 6 years. The car is complete. engine/trans/suspension/interior is all there.

the rust level is extremely low. no rust in the trunk at all, or around the windows. even the cowl looks good. no rust in the drip rails. underbody looks good. pulled up the carpet on the driver side and looks like just a bit of surface rust.

the engine bay is very clean & straight. no dents in the shock towers, etc.

it does have a bunch of bondo on the d/s quarter, the pass. door has a rust hole in it, the hood has a rust hole in it, the trunk lid has a rust bubble around the lock. ( i know this stuff is all easily replaceable)(except the quarter)

there is no accelerator pedal. why, i do not know.

the rear quarter windows dont roll up/down.

thats about as much as i know.

price is $1500 plus $500 in back due DMV registration fees. so $2k.

what do you guys think?

well i was a little too late. the car sold last night.

the car in my sig. i sold about 5 years ago to buy my corvette. i just had a baby boy and sold the vette a few months ago.

of course i miss the fastback & would love to get another one someday. but im looking for a cheap coupe (in reasonable shape) that i can work on little by little until my son gets older.

this will be a good possibility with a coupe, not with a fastback!
anyway im back on the classic mustang hype once again! oh and i had a 65 coupe before the 66 fastback in my sig so either one makes me feel good again.

thanks for the input.

Ah Ha! I had a similar story, as well, until I found current ride. I had a 2+2 as a kid and didn't realize what I let slip away.
Good luck in you r quest!
