radio and gear shift bezel/trim removal

'03, v6, 5sp - i need to remove the trim from around the bottom of the shifter, and from around the radio/ac controls. i've done it before, and just can't remember the process. do i start at the bottom, and work up? does the shifter trim have to come off first?

I always start at the bottom first. Dont forget about the shift knob being removed lol. When putting it back on just do the exact opposite.
