5.0 aod help please

hey guys i just bought a 88 5.0 the other day and need some help got it running pretty good but somthing is up with the transmission when i put it in gear it wants to push the car no matter what gear im in when i put it in drive its like it wants to go like its engaged all the time no slip never had this problem before can anyone help me please

If the car doesn't die when you put it in drive then the trans is slipping like it should. What's your idle at? I would also check the brakes.

it does die the rpms drop and then it stalls out like its under load

im thinking its the torque converter
