Satin black with clear coat?

to me it just looks unfinished, i think the exotic cars with the matte paint works because the lines are smoother too. I think it looks good on bmws, lambos, ferarris and newer vettes cause those cars already have a sleek stealthy kind of look to them, a mustang really isnt sleek looking at all. and the flat paint just makes it look more boxy to me

I have to agree with this. Satin looks cool on newer cars because of the stealth factor. On Really old stuff it can look good too for the same reason, provided the car is in really good shape. On a fox the first thing that pops into my head is rattle-can paintjob.

oh yehhhh, aint that the car you picked up cheep? seems like i remember something about that, might have been another guy on here. what the hell, if you dont like it its not like you couldnt match the paint and repaint the sections you dont like

Yeah thats my 200 dollar 85 lol. Well its just the fact of the matter. I got plans for it after I sell the 93. But i wanted to do something that is stealthy. I think the gloss idea would make it look even more like a badazz car. Good thing i saw that other 4 eye because i was debating on smoked headlight covers. But have decided to stear clear of them, just not my style.

I think I'm so used to looking at "project" fox body cars that satin colors just look like primer to me and make the car look totally unfinished. When I see flat paint I think "oh, he hasn't painted it yet." Maybe it's just me.

i agree with that, like ive said several times before i just dont get the "im gonna tint my taillights to look cool" thing. might as well put your car in R and back into something just to get the first scratch out of the way cause with the way people drive now (playing with Ipods/texting/reading/whatever) there is no way your not going to get hit. and guess what, it could be your fault for tinting your tails.

I'm with you. Once a while I'll see a nice-looking satin car, but it's got to be the right one with the right body panels, wheels, stance, etc. otherwise it just doesn't work IMO. I have the same feeling about black wheels; I don't like them at all but once in a great while I'll see a car on which they just look right.
