Can a 1 piece floorpan fit through the door of a 65 Fastback?

I am thinking that I may be better off changing out the whole deal rather than replacing three pans and then still messing with the transition pan having one corner edge missing. I saw an article on line that showed the installers sliding a dynacorn floor through the door opening.


I am really not wanting to take any glass out this season, I want to get the underside looking tidy and make the car stiff this winter without doing paint work & body if possible.

Anyone here done it?

Is this a "Shortened" pan?

Unless you need a trans tunnel, buy the sides instead. MUCH easier to make fit in two pieces. Less work keeping the body from flexing.It didn't fit for me in a 69 fb. That pic only show the back half of the floor. Not one piece.
 
Thanks but I really dont think a car is right with all of those seams added into the car. I dont see many cars properly restored with partial pans and I dont think the chassis strength would benefit from them.

Why do you think thats a shorter pan?

Looks like a nicer piece than what scott drake supplied, and a much more defined trans tunnel. This one had to be split on each side of the tunnel to get it close enough to weld. Iirc, ours wouldn't fit because the headliner was still in it. Feared a tear in it. But I wouldn't worry about a weld weakening anything. But if it bothers you a one piece is for you for sure. Reason I thought it was cut was it looked like the trans tunnel was running parallel and already in the car. So there was no way we were seeing the full length. But now I see the guy in the back with his hand next to the part that will actually go right next to wheel well. Then the guy in the white shirt, his piece, you can see at the back of it, right where your feet would go, and where it raises to go to the back of the car. Sorry, it was late. But I can see now it's definitely cut in two.
 
Thanks for posting that, But the thing is the 69 has a rear side window...thats gotta help. Have you guys done it like that on a 65 Fastback?

Also, does that pan have the seat belt threads already?
I'll talk to my guys over in the shop and see what they say.

update:
Talked to my guys and they are saying the best way is to come through the windshield opening and the seatbelt holes should be threaded I believe.
 
Whaaaaa ? You mean they weren't perfect ? Neither is the underside of the floor at the upper trans tunnel bracing. Those rarely touch in the corners at all on any car. When I say a bad fit, I mean worse than factory, needs to be modified. Like splitting the original tunnel and new one to get it to even be able to weld. Let alone seal after the weld. The radius's used at the tunnel weren't even close to the same as stock. if you pulled it in to try to get it closer, it became to short to weld to the rockers.

The humps your talking about are just wrinkles when it got stamped. The edges still meet up nice.
