I have a 68 coupe with a 289 engine, C4 and power steering.
I have been looking for 289 hipo exhaust manifolds, or alternatively 351W manifolds to put in my car. I prefer manifolds instead of headers, but I want to get rid of the stock logs.
I came across a pair of 351W headers from a 1958 van.
The castings are E0TE-9431-CA, and E1TE-9430-EB.
Does anyone know if these will fit, or will they create some clearance problems? Note, I don't have the possibility to test them.

I did some investigation, and it seems that they will not fit. They are coming from a van, so they are truck manifolds, and the outlet is pointing quite much downwards. I believe I will have some cleareance issues.

Why would you prefer hipo manifolds instead of 351W?? I have understood that the old 351W have bigger channels and flows better than the hipo.

Hipos are also very expensive compared to 351W.

I found a new pair of manifolds, C9OE-9430(1)-B. They are from a Fairlane or Torino. Can someone tell whether these would fit a 68 mustang???

The engine compartment of the 67-70 Mustangs were all the same. Of course, since those manifolds were intended to fit the 69-70 351W, there might be some issues with using them on a 302, not the least of which is you'll have to have custom exhaust made.

What makes you think they were Fairlane/Torino?

The model basic design, O in C9OE points to Fairlane/Torino. However
now I noticed that this is not to be followed 100%.
"The Model Design digit is only a partial reference to the intended application but by no means does this imply a specific application."

They actually came from a -69 Cougar. Hence they should fit to a mustang as well.

Making a custom made exhaust is not a problem.
I am going to buy them, port them and mount them.
