I know that we can pressurize our engines prior to starting and that is what I need to do.

Does anyone have a spare distributor shaft and instructions on how to do it?

The engine has been sitting a while.

Thanks

you can buy cheap oil pump priming kits that cover all popular engine types at Harbor Freight for like $10.. essentially an extended oil pump driveshaft, a spacer to keep it steady in the dist hole, and an end to hook the drill on.. throw the drill in reverse and go

On a small block ford it is a hex pump drive you can use a 1/4" drive socket with a extension, I think on my 331 it was 1/4" deep socket. Saves from buying anything:shrug:.

Also consider to get oil to all rods you will need to rotate crank I like to turn 90* prime, 90* prime and so on.
