HIDs in non-HID headlights *pics*

I have a 2011 5.0 with pretty much every option available, except the HIDs and the glass roof, which I wish I had gotten. Either way, I have the standard headlights, because I thought the HID ones looked strange. They're just now growing on me, but thats too late. So I installed some 6000k dual beam HIDs in my headlights, and i think they came out pretty clean. I did this a while back, about 2 months ago, but I never put up any pics. Me, not put up pics, lol, imagine that. :p

Anyways, I think the factory head lamp is better on this style mustang SN10, than my last S197, as you can see the cut off is much sharper.

The car.

I know it's not all "razor sharp cutoff" or anything like the actual HIDs, but it's pretty damn close I think.

Looks great, does it have a bluish tinge to it ?.
I'm looking to do something similar.
Can you tell me what bulbs you used I was looking at Silverstar Ultras but apparently they do not have anything that fits the H13 profile used in 2011 Headlamps.

You are correct. But, they are available in the silverstar.

The main difference between the ultra's and the silverstar's is going to be bulb life. The ultra's have a reworked design that lasts longer. The actual difference in brightness is not as much as you would believe.

Sylvannia know it all :p

Did you look at the Philips bulbs at all ?
If you went with the Silverstars and are happy with them - I will probably go for them as well.
I have not looked yet but is it a simple swap - the headlamp does not need to come out or does it ?

The silverstars are move of a factory improvement over a really blue looking color. If you are looking for a very blue tint to your beams, the silverstar will not do it. But neither will "Cool blue" or any other brand of auto parts store lights.

You need to special order those types of bulbs, but they generally are not street legal and are prone to pulling more amps through your wires then they are designed to hold from the factory.

What kit did you use for your HIDs? I am new to the forum and currently looking to do this. Thank you!

That appears to be a pretty wide beam you're throwing. I thought i read something advising against doing such a mod with stock projectors since they are not made to aim the beam correctly?
