okay, heres the situation.

94 Gt mustang, 270k miles. Been garaged for about 3 months.

Started it up and drove it today, it was running really rough, like it was running on 6 or 7 cylinders. Plugs and wires have less than 30k on them. Fuel filter less than 10k. Put fresh gas in it, tried seafoam in the gas and down the intake, cant seem to get it to run right. any suggestions?

Check engine light works, and it is not on.

You don't need a code reader. You can retrieve codes and do the CBT the same way as on an aero fox. If you have a repair manual, it is also outlined there.
 
I have the haynes manual that covers my 89 fox, but its kinda torn up and missin a couple pages i think i should probably pick up a new one. I remember a long time ago, the CEL came on in the 94 and went off while driving within 2 minutes. maybe now ill know what that code was.
 
I know all of these questions sound retarded :/ I have never done anything like this before, all of my previous vehicles were OBDII.

Do i perform the KOEO test before the KOER? and how do i know what codes im getting? I know to count flashes, but is there a long pause between codes so i know when one ends and another starts?
 
I tried performing the KOEO test, no codes showed up.

When i try to do the KOER, about 5 sec after startup the CEL will flash once, the RPMs will briefly rise to 1k, then drop again and nothing happens.

How can i get it to perform the CBT if i dont even know when the KOER test is finished?
 
How are you trying to pull codes? Code reader, VOM, test light or jumper wire? I would try to do the test light method.

When you pull KOEO codes, do you get any codes or code 111?
 
jumper wire. I somehow got to the cylinder balance test and i got a 2-0

checked #2 plug and it was completely fouled! the gap was HUGE!

changed plug, car runs perfect.

BUT, now i have 2 issues.

I still cant pull the codes, the CEL still only flashes once for a brief second, the RPMs come up for a second then settle once the CEL goes out.

And now, my speedometer wont work and the radio wont turn on! all other gauges and accessories inside work except radio and speedo. What gives?!
 
I havent got around to the fuses, i have been checking the wiring under the dash alot because there used to be an alarm wired up, and they did a bad quality job so im checking to make sure its not related to the alarm.
