hey, I am new to thread posting, but I am having problems with the idle on my 94 5.0. I'm not sure whether I am having an overdraw of power somewhere, but I have a problem with the idle getting too low, and most times with my headlights on and sometimes without them on, the power steering causes my engine to stall while idling. I'm hoping someone can help me out with this issue.

Start with pulling codes. The CEL need not be on for codes to be stored.

If the car was running fine before, the IAC probably got gunked up and is the issue. Be prepared to replace the IAC but you can try to clean it first:

Ford Mustang IAC IAB - Solving your idle problems

Good luck.

Quoted for truth.

This sounds like classic IAC issues... I have had my share of idle issues and what you are describing sounds like IAC trouble. The link posted is great! There are also other articles associated with that link that will walk you through the entire idle process and how to properly set your idle. Well worth the read and the work!!!

Good luck!

so you're trying to tell me that it is still an issue with the IAC as everyone else is telling me? or what is your thought on the issue.

I mentioned in post 3 what I would do.

I was merely noting that there is no idle-speed modification for the PS on the V8's.

More than likely, the sensors in the "air intake" track are dirty.

This includes the IAC, Idle Air Control, MAF, Mass Air-flow Sensor, etc.

Try and clean these sensors and see if they fix the issue, if nothing else you can eliminate these as possible sources.
