64 1/2 k-code convertible poppy red

does anyone know how rare this car is , how many were made?

No idea, but it was a very small number, I know that much. Of the total 126,538 64-1/2's produced, 28,833 were convertibles. Of those, about 10,000 of them were D-codes. Obviously there were even less K-codes, and of those, who knows how many were Poppy Red.

The records were destroyed, unfortunately, years ago. So I'm not sure if anyone really knows

You might be looking at the only one. Poppy Red was very cool, came back in 69-70 as Calypso Coral.

Not that this adds to your quest, but, mine is a late May built Poppy Red vert, but, it's a "D", not a "K".
