Put the 95 away for the winter. Only an inch of snow on the ground right now, but seasonal registration says I can't drive it between Nov 1 and Mar 31.

Battery's pulled, block heater's plugged in, cover's on and tucked in real tight.

Bring on the snow!!!

Yea I pulled mine off the road 30 days ago. The weather hasn't been the greatest anyways I could have really only driven with the top down maybe 5 or 6 days out of the 30. I'm too old to drive in the cold!

You guys up north...or in your case REALLY UP NORTH...as in Santa has to go UP to you lol. Kinda sucks you have to put it away 6-7mo after getting it out. At least you have plenty of time to do winter activities....I want to snowboard in AK SOOOOOOO bad.

My plates expired 09-30-10 and I taken some time to go over some items. Might get it plated again this month...might not as we are not far out from sub zero temps ourselves.

Since the car's going to be idle for the next 5 months, you could just drain the coolant from the engine altogether and then you won't have to worry about it freezing.

But that would entail jacking up the car out in the cold, figuring out how to drain the coolant from the block, including all the passages, and then having to re-do it in the spring. Or, I could plug the block heater in, and let it keep the engine from freezing... :D

As far as it sucking that I have to put it away--not really. Cuz snowmachine season starts in less than a month!!!:nice:

I call the 95 my "summer sled" anyway. Hate to tell you guys, but riding in 4-5 FEET of fresh powder beats driving the vert any day. :jaw:

You don't have to go to that extreme. Just disconnect the lower radiator hose at the radiator end. You'll get most of the coolant out and it'll provide some insurance in case (God forbid) the block heater decides to call it quits.
Come spring time it'll only take a few minutes to pour the coolant back in again.

I could only imagine that...I am envious. Years ago (99-00) on our way to our winter snowboard hangout at Breck/vail properties we took some snowmobiles above the tree line by the cont. divide. We had 1ft of fresh powder and our "guide" took us on some off beat trails to a back bowl. 4-5 feet would be just un-real.

I would be a little bummed out to put the car away this early, but since you're in AK, that's reasonable.

Still too early to put 'em away for winter around here. Haven't had any snow/salt yet, so they get driven on those nice cool, crisp, sunny days late into the season before storage. :D Think I went pretty close up to Christmas one year with the '01 back in '02 or '03, no snow or salt on the ground up until that holiday - which was RARE.

Snow's here. Almost always white on the ground by Halloween. I got stuck in the driveway just moving it from the garage to the garage-tent it hibernates in. Plus, the seasonal registration means no IM...:D

It's definitely winter in AK. But, as stated earlier, that's not a bad thing, it just means I get to switch to different toys!:nice:

wish i had a chance to drive mine at all this year, shes in pieces!
we have actually had a few really nice days for this time of year, we should get some ppl together and hit hidden valley this winter!

we almost never get snow in DC. but last year, we got hit 3 times with big storms (at least for us). 3 feet just before christmas, another 2 feet in january, then 3 more in february.

now that i have a garage, i am less worried about snow. or at least i will be less worried WHEN THE GARAGE HAS ROOM TO STORE MY CAR, which might be a while!

Just curious, but how does your seasonal registration work?
Car is only legal to drive April 1-Oct 31. Registration fee is the same as a year-round car, and I pay a "seasonal registration fee" that's the same amount as an IM test.

But, NO IM TEST!!! No worries about mods that might not pass a test (AK doesn't have a visual or safety inspection either).

If I had more time to drive it, I'd pay the IM, but I can expect snow to be here by the 1st of November, and it'll be around until mid April. And this thing does NOT go in the snow. So, it works for me.

Some really nice days as of late...mid-upper 70's and a nice breeze. Supposed to get down the mid 20's as a low this weekend. I might get it inspected next weekend if I am not busy laying tile in the kitchen.

I have never been to hidden valley...I dont know if I would like it as I have always been out west...from what I have heard I would be really unhappy since I am not a terrain/trick guy. If we get a decent snow and I am off I may hit it up before it ices up.
