Car value?

As I've stated here recently I'm looking around at '05-06 GT's right now.

Just in the last couple weeks, one popped up on Autotrader at a dealership a couple hours away from here. It's an '05 GT Deluxe, 5 speed, listed with 35,875 miles on the odometer, and they have it up for $13,990.

Now, I'm curious about two things pertaining to this car. #1, it's been up for sale for about 2 weeks now but they still don't have any pictures up of it on autotrader or on their website (but, they don't have pictures of all their other cars on their website either). They DO have up a free carfax for the car, which shows that the mileage is correct although it's had 3 owners for some reason, and no accidents. Guess it spent a lot of time in a garage.

Anyway, #2 is that I looked up the kbb value for this car- these guys are selling it for less than trade-in value. I know kbb is a general guideline but what do you guys think of the price?

Your going to have to be very dillgent in your search - most of the time... if it's too good to be true ...than it usually is - the trick is to look and keep looking - when it seemed that I was buying a new 5.0 back in the early nineties....every other day ....I drove all over the state looking - either for myself or friends - maybe harder in the winter time - dealers try to sell more 4x4's / trucks with the snow......(maybe why low $$) ...in Ill I 'stalked' a 96 cobra - the managers favorite car all winter 'sitting' on the showroom floor used - had 7k on it... blk on blk.....he had it priced high....kept going back offering real money - come summer I bought it ....he had it at 24k - I got it at 18.5k out the door ....be patient....good luck

The used car market has gone to hell because of all the rebates on new ones. There are folks who were getting new 2010 GT's for mid 20's.
I think the price you were quoted for a 2005 is probably about right.
I have seen 2007 GTs with low miles, fully loaded for $18,000.

I've seen SEVERAL fully loaded GT premium verts for sale in the 27-29k range. Unbelievable really. I've been thinking 5.0 all the way but that's REALLY tempting since the dream is a GT vert. We shall see what I do when I'm actually ready to buy...
