Name this KB Supercharger

Actually, it's at the front of the blower, just behind the drive cover. You can see the stamping here on mine:

The '417' refers to the Autorotor 417 (1.7L) case size. I don't know what the larger ones had (421, 422?). The '660' I assume is a serial number (?)

See if the guy can get a clear pic of it. Maybe it will at least tell you the case size.

And yeah, 850HP? Not with the stock fuel rails it ain't (2nd pic in your 2nd post...)

Ahh ok I see now. I may not need to ask for any more information from him because the more I find out in this thread the less it sounds like what I was hoping to buy from this guy. The car and power level sound nothing like what he described to me, and thats what had me so interested in it. Sounds more like low 400 hp to me :(

Oh Hell Yeah... if money is no object, I'd def go with a 03-04 Cobra. A liquid cooled 2.8L Mamoth KB SC and supporting mods. The sound alone would be worth the extra expense! LOL

hahah we can all dream I guess! Back to square one on the search for a new toy lol I thought I stumbled upon something big when I found this car and started reading about its claimed power and mods.

I can almost guarantee he's lying about the power level if he really said 850. He'd need big fueling mods for that sort of power and, likely, a much smaller drive pulley along with at least an 8-rib drive (it looks like 6-rib there now to me...)

But don't underestimate how much fun the "low 400s" can be on a DD. Seriously, that's where I am and the opportunities to use it all are few and far between. A side benefit is that I'm completely stock on the clutch, trans and rear axle (with the exception of FRPP uppers in the back and FRPP 3.73s -- using the OE 28-spline axles) and I don't worry about breaking **** all the time. Hell, the thing even gets decent fuel mileage if I don't beat on it.

I don't think those marks on the blower case are blistering from heat. It looks like overspray that ran down the side. Note you can see it on the drive snout too...

It might still be a decent buy even if the guy's (allegedly) a greaseball used-car-salesman liar when it comes to the power it's making...

Very true, you make some good points. It may still be worth the money hes asking, Im just a bit dissapointed now that I know what I am looking at, compared to what he told me I was looking at and what kind of power he told me the car had.

That's an older 2.1L. Looks like a 9lb pulley. Doesn't look like the MAF is 90mm. Air box is in the fender. Probably has a Boost a Pump. It's intercooled. TB looks plenty big. I'd say it's probably ~400hp with the potential of taking it up to maybe as high as 600hp with some bottom end rebuilding.

Wow, pretty good. Sounds like you know your stuff! Thanks for all the info :nice:
